We've all been on some crappy dates, I'm sure, but I would have drank my wine, picked up his drink and poured it over his head and then left. I am not Jewish, but I gather Jewish mums are similar to Italian ones in their desire to see kids married off and sprogged up. I am quite glad i live in the UK where nobody really cares! The very thought of my mum grilling me is so off the wall, that I cannot even imagine it! Great post. What...Oh my goodness, your mom is such a character! What a hilarious post. My mom is so not like this. My family's a bit unconventional and none of them seem to mind the fact that I'm single. In fact, when my sister got married, my dad moaned for months about how "bourgeois" the whole "wedding charade" was. Course when the day came, he was a sentimental, weepy mess. :-)Anna Garnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07812306606425286218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-855740752605367024.post-50813435822097216042012-10-12T12:03:47.573-07:002012-10-12T12:03:47.573-07:00How hilarious! Hee!

I want to know what your mom thinks of the mother characters in your books? Does she see any resemblance between herself and them?

It really is funny how moms by nature can never let something go. A very long time ago, my mother met a young, "cute" architect and gave him my number. I was so horrified at the thought of being set up by mother and so busy with my social life that I didn't return the guy's call when he tried to contact me. To this day, my mother will sigh plaintively and say, "If only you'd taken that call, you could be married to an architect." She will NEVER get over the disappointment of me not being interested in her "pick" for me.Tracie Banisterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16251073586491084749noreply@blogger.com
