Hey Everyone!!!
So I got to do something super awesome yesterday...meet Jay Asher (Thirteen Reasons Why and The Future of Us) and Lauren Oliver (Delirium Trilogy, Before I Fall, and Panic)!!!
I took pictures and recorded the entire Conversation Jay had with Lauren and the Q & A afterwards! First here are the recordings of the conversations! Both were so great! Really nice and funny! My favorite type of authors!!
The Conversation between Jay and Lauren:
The Q & A after the conversation! I asked a question too...mine is the one near the end for Lauren where I ask her how she came up with the concept behind the Deliria disease for the Delirium Trilogy!
Now to the pictures! So many great ones!!

This is a post card Lauren was giving out to promote her newest novel coming out this September! It's her first novel for adults!
Funny story on this subscription from Lauren, because I made both her and Jay laugh when I slickly handed The Romance Bookie's business card to the Barnes and Noble Rep. It reads "For Panic-Mandy-The smartest card carrier there is! I hope you love Panic."
This inscription reads: "For Mandy-Thanks so much for coming today and for being a fan!"
Lovely post! I'm so glad I got to meet you there! I hope to see you at many more book events to come, hopefully including the Festival of Books!! *fingers crossed*! xoxox!
Hey Everyone!! I am SOOO Close to my yearly goal of reading 50 books, that this is so happening this year!!!! ONE MORE TO GO!!! Anyway, this time around I read The Geography of You and Me by one of my favorite authors, Jennifer E. Smith! From Goodreads : Lucy and Owen meet somewhere between the tenth and eleventh floors of a New York City apartment building, on an elevator rendered useless by a citywide blackout. After they're rescued, they spend a single night together, wandering the darkened streets and marveling at the rare appearance of stars above Manhattan. But once the power is restored, so is reality. Lucy soon moves to Edinburgh with her parents, while Owen heads out west with his father. Lucy and Owen's relationship plays out across the globe as they stay in touch through postcards, occasional e-mails, and -- finally -- a reunion in the city where they first met. A carefully charted map of a long-distance relationship, Jennifer E. Smith's new novel
Hey Everyone! I finished another book! I bought this one along with Shrill , when I found an Amazon Books store in NYC last week! I cannot believe I already finished both in less than a week, when I hadn't finished a single book since last July! From Goodreads : In season four of Darren Star's hit TV Land series Younger , the editors of Empirical Press are shocked and deeply moved when they read Marriage Vacation , an autobiographical novel by the publisher's estranged wife, Pauline Turner Brooks. Knowing the book will cause a sensation, they decide they must publish it. Now you can read what the hype is about. To find herself...she might lose everything. By all appearances, Kate Carmichael had the perfect life: two adorable daughters, a pre-war town house on the Upper East Side, and a husband who ran one of the most successful publishing companies in New York. But when Kate attends the wedding of two of her oldest friends, and reconnects with succe
I saw the movie Hugo (directed by Martin Scorsese) right before the New Year. Let me back track, and let you know that usually I am NOT a fan of Oscar movies. If I'm being honest, I find them to be boring. However, this year has seemed to bring quite a few more exceptions than normal. Among those are: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 , The Help , and Hugo. I fell in love with Hugo . I thought it so beautifully done. The music, the characters, the story. I found myself crying even at points that wouldn't necessarily make you cry. I honestly, didn't know the movie was based on a book; but when I found out at the end, I knew I had to read it. The winner of the Children's Caldecott Award, The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick is nothing like anything I've ever read. Normally, when I read I imagine the story that I am reading unfolding in my head like a movie; but with The Invention of Hugo Cabret I didn't have to imagine. T
