Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally

 Hey!

Today's review is for Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally!

I am enjoying reading so much again, I am just on a roll!

From Goodreads:

A new swoon-worthy romance following a couple's love story on the same date over four years.

Every May 7, the students at Coffee County High School take a class trip.  And every year, Lulu's relationship with Alex Rouvelis gets a little more complicated.  Freshman year, they went from sworn enemies to more than friends after a close encounter in an escape room.  It's been hard for Lulu to quit Alex ever since.

Through breakups, makeups, and dating other people, each year's class trip brings the pair back together and forces them to confront their undeniable connection.  From the science museum to an amusement park, from New York City to London, Lulu learns one thing is for sure: love is the biggest trip of all.

My Thoughts:

This one was cute!  I'll be honest, it wasn't my favorite Miranda Kenneally book, but I did enjoy it overall.  It was an interesting story to follow these high school sweethearts over their four year journey of finding themselves and figuring things out with each other.

I loved their friends, I always get so jealous of friendships in YA novels, because they always have the best friends who would do anything for you.  That has definitely never been my experience with friendships.

I wish more individual details were given about the characters.  You hear tidbits of past things that led up to the trip, but you never really hear details about the individual main characters.  You learned a bit more about Alex than you did about Lulu I thought.

I had some issues with Lulu a few times.  She came off as really inconsiderate at times, and spoiled.  Also a bit full of herself a few times.

I liked Alex.  I, again, wish that the reader could have gotten more information on his background.  Miranda Kenneally mentions a few things about his family, but it doesn't really go anywhere, I thought.

Overall Rating:

Overall, I thought Four Days of You and Me was cute and it kept me reading.  I read it in a day and a half. I ended up staying up pretty late the other night just reading, which hasn't happened in a long time.  My main complaint is that I thought everything was just a bit convenient in the story.  The ending especially.  Everything just fell into place at the very last second, and it felt very rushed, and then...done.  Problem solved.  There were quite a few over-the-top cheesy moments that I thought could have been toned down a bit too.

But again, I read it, and I read it fast.  So I did enjoy it overall.  It was a fun, mindless read, that allowed me to escape out of my head for a while.  Which is exactly what I'm looking for in a book!

Hope everyone has a nice day!
