Hey Everyone, I know it's been a while...a long while.  And to be honest, I don't know how many will read this, not that I have ever known; but I'm sure it is no where near how many people used to read.  I'll probably write a post soon, about life updates and such. Hello Everyone, I want to tell you about a moment of human kindness that I happened to me a couple of months ago.  Something that I haven't experienced in a while from a stranger. I was YA'll West, in Santa Monica, and in line for an author signing.  This was my third year attending, and I was a bit disappointed by how the event was going.  Don't get me wrong, I still had a great time, and got to add quite a few signed copies to my collection. But when I first started going to YA'll West, it was only in it's second year, here on the West coast.  It was a two day event, with so much to do, easy to get around, SOOOOOOO many giveaways (which were not the main reason I was there, but a wonderful bonus!), and you could literally just walk up to 80% of the authors without waiting in line, to get your books signed. Hey Everyone, This is a sort of Flashback Friday.  Back in 2011, I read and reviewed Jay Asher's book 13 Reasons Why .    What a year 2011 was.  A LOT has happened since then.  It's been 7 years. As many of you know, 13 Reasons Why  was turned into a Netflix series last year.  Well, due to my own problems, and lack-of-internet, mainly problems though, I did not watch the show when it first came out.  I knew I wasn't going to be emotionally "ready" for it.  To be honest, I don't think I was emotionally "ready" for it, when I started watching the show back in December. Hello Everyone, So I have an amazing husband!  I mean, I already knew this, but wow, did I get lucky! So he knows how big of a fan of Meg Cabot I am.  Especially her Princess Diaries  series!  Well, I've been on an audiobook kick, because my head has been able to concentrate on a book in ages, and audiobooks are the only thing that have allowed me to continue "reading". Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I got my hands on the audiobook of Royal Wedding (which is the final book in the series), and have been listening to that.  Well, last week I get home, and guess what was in the mail?? Hey Everyone! So who remembers this video? A bunch of you right? Or maybe not, I don't know.  I remember my mom sharing it on Facebook, and then it just showing up everywhere!  Funny thing, I never got around to seeing it, up until about a week ago. I was rather surprised to receive Laugh It Up! Embrace Freedom and Experience Defiant Joy, the audiobook, by Candace Payne (Chewbacca Mom herself!) for Christmas from my mom.  Apparently, Candace Payne is some sort of inspirational speaker now.  She inspires people to believe in joy and just enjoy themselves. Hello Everyone, I know I have been absent for a few months now, since the beginning of my school semester.  And while school has been keeping me busy, there have been other things that have happened in my life. So before I go into my last review of 2016, I want to tell you guys something that has changed my life forever. On Wednesday September 14th around 5:30 pm my entire world was turned upside down.  My dad, at the age 46, suffered from a major heart attack.  It happened at home, while my brother and him were working on a project together.  The ambulance came, and the paramedic were able to resuscitate him; but unfortunately the damage had been done. On Thursday September 22nd, 2016 at 6:25 pm my dad died from brain damage, caused by the lack of oxygen during the heart attack.  My dad is my hero, and will always be.  He was the most hard working person I have ever met, and he has always inspired me to go after my dreams. Hey Everyone! So I have a little background story to tell, before I go into this review. I am currently taking a Chicanos class for my upper division classes, that will get me my B.A. in Early Childhood Studies next Spring (2017).  This is a class that is supposed to be focusing on the adolescence sides of the Chicano culture.  Instead of a textbook to buy this semester, we were told to buy three literature novels that we would be reading this semester. Two weeks ago we were given our first novel, which was a book called The Tequila Worm  by Viola Canales.  This was a fairly small book, written for a middle school audience, so it wasn't too bad finishing it in two weeks.  Keep in mind, we have three other classes, equaling a full load of units for the semester, and I am in a program went for working adults who can't go to school during the day time, so we meet up twice a week in the evenings for class time. When it comes to Meg Cabot, you can always guarantee that she will listen to her fans!   While I loved the Mediator series, which I read back in high school, I never expected there to be an adult sequel to the series...but I am so glad she did!! As some of my readers may know, I have been in a reading rut for quite some time now...about two years, but Meg Cabot is the one author I can ALWAYS count on to get me out of the rut...for at least long enough to finish what her latest novel is :).
