The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour is the story of a really terrible girl band, who goes on a week long tour that takes them to a number of places between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon.  They take their friend, Colby along for the ride. In the point of view, of Colby, whose in love with his best friend, Bev; who seems to be acting strange during their trip. Colby and Bev have been planning a year long trip to Europe, since the 9th grade.  They have finally graduated from high school, and are ready to go...at least that's what Colby thought. Bev has other plans though.  She decides to drop the bomb that she's gotten into RISD, and will be going there in the fall, and won't be able to go to Europe, leaving Colby with no backup plan because he thought they both had agreed that they would be putting a hold on college for a year, so they could travel and see all the places that they had dreamed about. Colby is heart broken, especially because his best friend sinc...

Unread Books!

Hey Everyone! So this is one of those posts that I've decided to do partly out of boredom, and partly because I LOVE making lists!! I actually have family coming to visit next week!  Something I'm SUPER excited about, because for one, I only get to see them once every two years, and two, because it's my Aunt and Uncle and they taking me to VEGAS for my 21st bday!!! That's right, LAS VEGAS!!! Anyway, you know how it is when company is coming! Clean Up time!  So I've been doing sort of a late spring cleaning thing the last couple of days!  And while I hate cleaning, the one thing I LOVE doing when I clean up is reorganize my books!! My book shelves have been bothering me for weeks!  I have reorganize them about once every couple of months, because they look so messy, only because I end up having to start stacking books on top of each other, because there is no more room! Well anyway, today I finally got to them!! And I ended up making a list!  A list of boo...

Okay, so I heard about all the drama going around the book blogging community...and while many will not agree with me, I have chosen to ignore it.  It isn't that I am not upset about what happened...believe me; I am, in fact very disappointed.  What she did was wrong, and she should definitely own up to it.  I guess what I'm overall trying to say (and this will be the only time I discuss this!), I am not going to get myself involved in this mess, with my opinions.  I'm sorry, but I lived through enough drama in high school, and do NOT want any more in my life.  I am a freaking grown woman after all!  A young one at that, but none the less an...

Gayle Forman, Nina La Cour, and Stephanie Perkins Signing

Image
Hey everyone!! So I'm back from my beautiful gorgeous mini vacation.  I spent the weekend with a friend.  Did some girl talk, hung out, ate Thai food, I got to watch When Harry Met Sally for the first time ever (what a cute movie!!!), and I got to do something SUPER exciting on Friday...MEET Gayle Forman (author of If I Stay and Where She Went ), Nina La Cour (author of Disenchantments ), and Stephanie Perkins (author of Anna and French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door )! The signing was a ton of fun!  It was fairly small, so we were able to actually talk one on one with the authors without being rushed.  We got to have all of our books signed of course, and we got to ask questions and each of the authors read a passage out of their books. I found out about the signing last month, and got SUPER excited when I found out how close it is to where I live, and luckily because I go to school in the town it was held, and have a friend who lives there, I was able to...
