 Hey! So I'm going through a little bit of a reading slump to start off my July, but instead of putting the pressure on me to read something specific, I decided to finally read something I've been wanting to read for a long time! The Mortal Instruments Graphic Novels!  I understand why Graphic novels are pricier, they take a lot of work to make, and a lot of someone's valuable time!  But that doesn't make it easier to shell out $15 for a book that will take me less than 45 minutes to read.   But I finally did it!  I bought all four that are available so far for my birthday!   I turned 30 on the second.   THIRTY. I still can't believe I'm 30.  That is so unbelievably crazy to me.  I started The Romance Bookie when I was 19.  Practically a baby.  And now I'm a full fledged married-with-a-child-and-mortgage adult.  Crazy! Hey Everyone!! So again, it's been a while.  In reality, while I still absolutely love reading, in all honesty it just hasn't been my #1 priority in life.  I have two jobs, go to school twice a week for night classes, have one class online, and have been spending all the access free time I have left, with my boyfriend.  It's been a crazy and exciting last few months, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. In reality, The Romance Bookie, will in NO MEANS be shut down, but reviews will continue to be slower and slower in going up.  I still read when I can, and once my classes end middle of next month, for the semester, I will have a couple of weeks, where I can just focus on reading whatever my heart desires, during my breaks :). I've been meaning to read Twilight: The Graphic Novel   forEVER!! For us readers, finishing a book can not only be an experience of happiness, happy endings, and love, but also an experience of heartbreak, love lost, and the agony of waiting...just in case if that author changes his/her mind and decides to write another book.  But just because you are broken as a reader when you finish that book, that doesn't mean you didn't love it!! No. It might mean that you are sad, because you have had to say goodbye to some of your favorite characters.  I know my fellow Harry Potter , fans can relate.  I mean come on, if you were like me, and grew up from the fourth grade all the way to the 10th grade, like me, with those characters, you know exactly what I'm talking about! Happy Sunday everyone!! :) Goodness, I have spent all day enjoying a nice relaxing day of being lazy!  In fact, I finally got around to finishing the second Vampire Academy book Frostbite !  It's only a bit over a week since I started it, but I was getting a little frustrated that I couldn't continue reading it, when I had to do homework instead...because let me just say, this series is GOOD!!!! I love it so much!! I'm so unbelievably looking forward to reading the next books in the series. Hey Everyone! So I want to be honest here and say there haven't been all that many vampire books that I've read.  Back in 2008 and 2009 when Twilight was all the craze, and everyone was devouring every single vampire they could get their hands on; I was actually just reading, reading, and reading whatever the heck I wanted! It varied from anything from about vampires, to someone getting magic powers, to The Princess Diaries ! In fact, besides The Twilight Saga , there hasn't really been another vampire series, besides Cassandra's Clare's novels, but they don't really 100% focus around vampires; that I've enjoyed.  But now there is another one that I can add to the list! Aside from the friends I've made blogging, I don't have very many friends who enjoy reading.  In fact, none of them read like I do.  So, when one of these friends recommends a book to me, I simply must check it out! One of my good friend, lent me her copy of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novels.  The first one, which is called Guilty Pleasures. I received Foretold from Meg Cabot this summer in a surprise package thanking me for Meg-A Readers.  Believe me I was jumping up and down with excitement! I don't receive many ARCs that are hard copies, so it extra exciting having it be one that not only contained a short story from Meg (my all time favorite author) but also Simone Elkeles!!!
