Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. Catching Jordan!!! That's this week's Still on My Mind is Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally! Read this one January and LOVED it so much! It was one of those books I just couldn't put it down, and I believe I read it in less than a day! Which honestly, doesn't happen very often! Goodreads Description: "Whoever said football and girls don't mix hasn't read Catching Jordan. I couldn't put it down " -- Simone Elkeles, New York Times bestselling author of the Perfect Chemistry series ONE OF THE BOYS What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this week's Still on My Mind, I've decided to pick a book in honor of October's Bully Prevention Month.   I read Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, last year ( Review HERE ), and since then I just have not been able to get it out of my head. It was one of the most beautiful, devastating novels I have ever read. Goodreads Description:   Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Thro...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this week's Still on My Mind I've chosen Nightshade by Andrea Cremer! I know, I know, I only read it last week, but honestly, this book was awesome!!! So what's it about? Well, according to  Goodreads: Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything- including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?...

I'm pretty sure I've used this book series before...but honestly I don't care...because it's true!! IT IS ALWAYS ON MY MIND!!!! :) City of Bones by Cassandra Clare What's it about? From Goodreads : When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy? This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled in...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this week's Still On My Mind, I'm using a book I read last week.  I absolutely fell in love with this story, and haven't been able to stop thinking about. Emily Giffin's Where We Belong is a great read for anyone!  It captured your heart! Deals with first love, heartbreak, truth, and SO many other things! Here's the Goodread's description: The author of five blockbuster novels, Emily Giffin, delivers an unforgettable story of two women, the families that make them who they are, and the longing, loyalty and love that binds them together     Marian Caldwell is a thirty-six year old television producer, living her dream in New York City. Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. This weeks Still On My Mind is a bit more special! Why? Well, I'll be hosting an US/CANADA giveaway to go with it!! On Tuesday (August 14th) Jamie McGuire's best selling book Beautiful Disaster was released via Atria books (an ADULT publisher through Simon and Schuster!)!  I actually read Beautiful Disaster last year, when it was still an Indy book, and absolutely LOVED it!! I know a lot of controversy has been going on around this book, but let me just get one thing straight...this is NOT A YA BOOK!!!  It's an adult book!  I'd say between the ages of 17-30! Anyway here's the  Goodreads description: The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her ward...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this weeks Still on my Mind I've decided to pick a book that's been on my mind for quite some time now... I originally read this series during the summer before my freshmen year of high school.  It was a series I read with two of my friends at the time.  We went to see the movie that summer too...it has brought back some great memories... Last year, the fifth and final book in the series was released...it takes place ten years after the fourth. This book broke my heart, beyond repair it feels like sometimes, when I think about it.  It made me cry beyond control, there are probably still pages sticking together from all my tears.  This is 100% a book I will never forget! <3 For me review go HERE ! I read this one last August.  I...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. I became obsessed with this week's Still on My Mind, last year.  I originally read the book, because even though I'd seen the book around Target numerous times, the ultimate thing that led me to buying it was the release of the movie, which starred Kate Hudson.  I devoured this book within a couple of days, and bought the second one as soon as I had the opportunity to.  Recently, I read a short prequel, that the author offered for free in ebook form, and was happy to get back into their world. For this week's Still on My Mind, I have chosen Something Borrowed   and Something Blue by Emily Giffin. Something Borrowed 's description from Goodreads : "Something Borrowed" tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working i...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this weeks Still On My Mind, I will probably be doing one of the biggest cliches in Young Adult literature. But you know, honestly, despite what some people think of this series, I still absolutely adore this series! So for this week's Still On My Mind I've chosen... Yes, yes, I know!! But I'm sorry, even after four years I still can't get my mind off of this series! So instead of telling all of you what this book is about...which, you know, everyone should probably know by now, unless you've been living under a rock for the past four years...I'll tell you exactly why this series is still on my mind after all...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. Because I just finished Two for the Dough , I've got Stephanie Plum on the brain!  That's why for this weeks choice for Still on My Mind I've decided to choose One for the Money by Janet Evanovich, which is the first in the Stephanie Plum series. While I'm out on the hunt for book three, Three to Get Deadly , I've got no other choice but just keep me going by the hilarious afterthoughts of reading both One for the Money and Two for the Dough . Goodreads Description: Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, home to wiseguys, average Joes, and Stephanie Plum, who sports a big attitude and even bigger money problems (since losing her job as a lingerie buyer for a department store). Stephanie needs cash--fast--but times are tough, and soon she's ...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this weeks Still On My Mind I decided to pick Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot. Size 12 and Ready to Rock was released on Tuesday!  I read Size 12 and Ready to Rock a few weeks ago, and of course absolutely LOVED it!! Even though it's been 5 years since its release, 3 years since I read Big Boned , I felt it was a great continuation, that even if I hadn't reread the entire series before I read this one, I would have been able to swing right back into the series! :) Here's the description from Goodreads : Summer break . . . and the livin' ain't easy Just because the students at New York College have flown the coop doesn't mean assistant residence hall director Heather Wells can relax. Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this week's Still on My Mind I have decided to choose a book that I absolutely loved!  Something that was very rare about this book was that it was a sequel, and I loved it even more than the first! How often is it that a SEQUEL is even better than the first??!! I mean don't get me wrong I really liked the first novel, but there was something about the sequel that was just so beautiful! Whether it was the super hot musician main character, or the heartbreaking story...I personally think it was both...but it was just amazing, and reasons why this book is on my top 10 all time favorite books of all time.  I actually got to meet Gayle Forman in April, and she was so sweet! You can read about my experience HERE! So anyway, here's this weeks Still on My...

Oh dang! I almost forgot about my Still on My Mind post today!! So for this week I'm going to do... Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument Series! Because it's a series, and because I loved each one of them SOOOOO much, it is MUCH too difficult to just choose one! So instead, I am doing all of them! Okay, except for the newest one City of Lost Souls because I haven't had the chance to read that one quite yet. But here's the description from Goodreads : The Shadowhunters—touched by angels and charged with protecting innocents—battle demons and other evil in the bestselling Mortal Instruments series. City of Bones When Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with odd markings. This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons—and keeping the odd werewolves and vamp...

This weeks book, in honor of the release of Kody Keplinger's new book I've got... A Midsummer's Nightmare (my Review can be found  HERE!! ) by Kody Keplinger was released on Tuesday (June 5th)!  (You can actually find an interview with Kody HERE! ) Description (from Goodreads ): Whitley Johnson's dream summer with her divorcé dad has turned into a nightmare. She's just met his new fiancée and her kids. The fiancée's son? Whitley's one-night stand from graduation night. Just freakin' great. Worse, she totally doesn't fit in with her dad's perfect new country-club family. So Whitley acts out. She parties. Hard. Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. This week's book I read back in February, right before I headed to Long Beach for the Passion & Prose Conference.   I actually ate lunch right next to this author on the day, and got to talk to her about amazing book, shortly after I had read it! She was really sweet, and even wrote a super sweet message into my beautiful Hardcover copy of the book... Cinder ( Review HERE ) by Marissa Meyer is 100% one of my favorite novels released this year!  It was original (when it comes to a Cinderella story), had great characters, kept me hooked throughout the entire thing, and was an all around great read! If you're one of the few people whose missed this great page turner, here's the description from Goodreads: Humans and androids crowd the raucous...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. This week I've decided to choose a book I read a few weeks ago... Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins was just one of those books I couldn't get out my head!  I just absolutely adored it! Here's the  Goodreads description: Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home. As ...

Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. In honor of the Meg-A Readers Blog Hop! Kick-off and the release of Size 12 and Ready to Rock in July, this weeks book is... I read this book three years ago, during my senior year in high school.  I had gotten it at this book fair that was being held at my school, and had read it right away and instantly fell in love!  I went back the next day and bought the second, Size 14 is not Fat Either .  I devoured all three books in the series, including Big Boned over a very short period, and loved each one. Here is the description from Goodreads : Heather Wells Rocks! Or, at least, she did . That was before she left the pop-idol life behind after she gained a dress size or two — and lost a boyfriend, a recording contract, and her life savings (when Mom ...

Still On my Mind Meme Thursday (#1)

Image
Hey everyone! So I can't promise I am going to be remembering to do this EVERY Thursday, but I ran across a fun Meme that Haley over at Ya-Aholic has put together... It's called...Still on My Mind... Overall, what you're supposed to do is discuss a book that you read either a couple of months ago, a couple of years ago, or even a LONG time ago! For my first Still on My Mind Meme...I am going to be discussing on of my all-time favorite books...   The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger! This was one of the first books I ever reviewed here on The Romance Bookie (Review  HERE)   This is one of those books where the title absolutely stuck out for me, when I saw it in a bookstore.  I was walking through Barnes and Noble, in December of 2010, and I saw this book called The DUFF! Now, I am going to admit something here, that is pretty embarrassing, but do you know what my first thought was when I saw t...
