Hey Everyone!! So last Monday, I went to another awesome book event!! I got the amazing opportunity to meet Maggie Stiefvater!! It was another crazy fun night at The Grove in Los Angeles last Monday evening. Maggie Stiefvater was HILARIOUS!!  There is honestly no other way to describe her!  I was pretty kneeling over from laughter the entire time!  Unfortunately we weren't allowed to record so I wasn't able to do an actual recording of the entire discussion like I try to do at all the signings I go to. There are thousands of talented writers out there, heck probably millions.  Not all of them choose to put there work out there, while others make their way into the publishing world. Some succeed, some don't. To get your book published, I have heard, is EXTREMELY hard work!  JK Rowling...who some of you may have heard of...she's only the author of one of the MOST FAMOUS CHILDREN'S SERIES of ALL TIME, if not THE MOST!! was rejected a DOZEN times before landing a publisher! And according to this article, the only reason why Bloomsbury accepted Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is because the CEO's "eight year old daughter" begged her dad to publish it! Judy Blume, who wrote MANY famous novels that millions of young girls grew up with, received nothing  but rejections for over two years! MEG CABOT, my hero! My absolute favorite author received over 17 REJECTIONS, before getting The Princess Diaries in print! The Twilight Saga by Stepheni...

I have been DYING to read Miranda Kenneally's newest book since Catching Jordan since reading, said, Catching Jordan back in January!  I absolutely LOVED CJ!  It was just one of the best contemporaries I've read in a long time!! So when I pre-ordered Stealing Parker last week, and saw the next day it had already shipped, when it isn't supposed to be released until October 1st, I was stoked on life! And then that stokeness factor just went up even more when I received said-book-I've-Been-waiting-for-for-months I ripped open that Barnes and Noble package and devoured that book in about a day-and-a-half! If it would have been up to me, I would finished it in less than that time, but I have other things to do sometimes, unfortunately.  Stealing Parker is Miranda's second book, and it's actually a companion to Catching Jordan .  What is a companion? Well, it's not exactly a sequel, but it does include some of the main characters from Catc...

Babe in Boyland caught my attention just by the story!  It's about Natalie and her quest to figure out the mystery of the boy's mind. Natalie, aka Dr. Aphrodite, is the anonymous love Dr. at Mountain View High School for the school paper.  But she's been getting quite the wrath from her male readers...in fact, they can't stand her column, and believe that she doesn't understand anything about guys, and is only telling the girls what they want to hear, not the truth! So what does she do?? Become the man of course! Natalie...or Nat, goes under cover at Underwood Academy...to find out the seven question that every girl wants to know about the inner working of the human male's mind... Along the way, she happens to have a roommate who just happens to be one of the most gorgeous of the male specimen...Emilio... sigh ...Mr. Six-Pack-with-a-heart-of-gold...like I said... sigh ... Anyhow, what happens when Natalie is supposed to figuring out all the answer...

I'm a little late on the Cheese Touch...haha, if you don't get what I mean by that...either go out and get your hands on a copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney, or rent the movie. I was first introduced to this book series my senior year of high school by a librarian.  Since then my eleven year old brother has read all of them and loved them (and let me just mention he is not a reader!!)!  The seventh book in the series is going to be released in November...which my brother is already counting down the days for!! Anyway, as I was sitting yesterday in the fifth grade class I volunteer in, and reading the last fifty pages of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, I felt my eyes welling up!  That book made me cry SOOOO much!!  I just couldn't finish it during the class, because how embarrassing is it to burst out crying in front of a bunch of fifth graders??? Anyway, to make a long story short...I walked over to the class bookshelf, and picked up Diary of...

Two for the Dough , the second in Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, continues the fabulously hilarious story of Stephanie's new life as a Bail Bondwoman.  She's back!!! On the hunt for latest person to have missed their parole meeting, Stephanie is looking for Kenny Mancuso, a man who everyone assumes, at first, is a good kid, a first offender, and just needs a little push to make it into his hearing...that is until it turns out he goes back and finishes the job, of instead of just shooting his best buddy in the knees, like he did last time, this time it's killing him. Even though sometimes she feels she's over her head, Stephanie is not ready to give up...ever!  With some help from the ever-present and annoying Joe Morelli. Morelli seems to be getting closer and closer to Stephanie, always either right behind her or right in front of her.  She doesn't know quite what to think of it. Happy 4th of July Everyone!!! :) I'm back from Las Vegas, sort of glad, it was pretty dang hot over there! It was super fun though! I drank my first ever Long Island Ice Tea (REALLY good!! But I can definitely tell why everyone calls them deadly!), and a lovely Sex on the Beach (which btw, is super delicious!)!  Unfortunately, I didn't bring home that million dollars, in fact I lost a bit of money, but that's okay! That's what Vegas is all about! On the 5 and a half hour ride there, I was able to read and finish two books! One shorter than the other, because it was a prequel.  Than I also read another one, and finished it on the ride home.  So over the next few days, reviews will be coming up! I haven't decided yet, but I think I will post some pictures from my trip in the coming days.  My family is leaving on Friday (;(), which I'm totally bummed out about because they are the best!! But after that I will have a bit more time, to share some things with ...

I won Keren David's Lia's Guide to Winning the Lottery from Library Thing , a signed copy of it actually, which I was pretty stoked on life about! :) It's taken me a couple of months to read it, but I've finally gotten to it, and am really glad! This book really caught my eye, because of the word: Lottery.  Who doesn't want to win the lottery, right??  I sure would! I don't know exactly what I would do with all that money.  Personally, I think I would be really scared because I'd be afraid I spend it all and then have no money again! And has anyone else heard of the curse of winning the lottery?? I am seriously not making this up! Here's an article explaining what I'm talking about!  It's scary! Especially for a superstitious person like me!
