One of Us is Next (One of Us is Lying #2) by Karen M McManus (Audiobook)

 Hey Everyone!

Alright, time for the review of book 2 of the One of Us Is Lying series by Karen M. McManus, One of Us Is Next!

From Goodreads:

Come on, Bayview, you know you've missed this.

A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one's been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts.

Until now.

This time it's not an app, though--it's a game.

Truth or Dare.

Phoebe's the first target. If you choose to play, it's a truth. And hers is dark.

Then comes Maeve and she should know better--always choose the dare.

But by the time Knox is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it's that they can't count on the police for help. Or protection.

Simon's gone, but someone's determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High alive. And this time, there's a whole new set of rules.

The highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestselling thriller everyone is talking about, One of Us is Lying! There's a new mystery to solve at Bayview High, and there's a whole new set of rules.

My Thoughts:

I am not usually someone who reads thriller series, but I am really liking this one!  I am kind of bummed that Goodreads is saying we have to wait until next year for the third book, because this one definitely ended like it is going to continue!

I am very curious where the story will go, because the first ended on a pretty final note, and then the second brought back the story in a neat way to make it different, and so it will be interesting to see where the author takes the third book, especially since you do get a lot of questions answered in this one!

Again the author, Karen M. McManus does a great job with each of the characters.  I was excited to see Maeve as a main character in this one, because you got to know her a little bit through her older sister, Bronwyn, in the first book.  Her story made me worry quite a bit, but it ended up being really good.

Maeve's best friend, Knox is also a great character!  Him and Phoebe end up being equally great character, but Phoebe ended up being my favorite.  Her story was complex with her background and her sad past, that I really felt for her.

I'm very interested to see who the next book will focus on, because I have a feeling if it is about different characters, that at least one of the characters we will already have been introduced to in these first two books!

Overall Rating:

Again, check this one out if you're in the mood for a good Young Adult Thriller!  It will keep you on your toes!
