Coming Up For Air by Miranda Kenneally (Audiobook)

Image
Hey Everyone! Finished listening to Miranda Kenneally's Coming Up for Air  during my drives to work!  I have had this book sitting on my night stand since last summer when it was released, but my head has just not been able to get into reading a book, so I figured out the next best thing...audiobooks! From Goodreads : All of Maggie's focus and free time is spent swimming.  She's not only striving to earn scholarships - she's training to qualify for the Olympics.  It helps that her best friend, Levi, is also on the team and that he cheers her on, but he's already earned his Olympic tryout, so sometimes his presence creates more pressure.  If that wasn't stressful enough, life become even more complicated once Maggie goes on a college visit.  There, she realizes how much of the typical high-school experience she's missed out on by being in the pool.  Not one to shy away from a challenge, Maggie decides to try to squeeze the most out of he...

Royal Wedding (Princess Diaries #11) by Meg Cabot (Audiobook Review)

Image
Hello Everyone, So I have an amazing husband!  I mean, I already knew this, but wow, did I get lucky! So he knows how big of a fan of Meg Cabot I am.  Especially her Princess Diaries  series!  Well, I've been on an audiobook kick, because my head has been able to concentrate on a book in ages, and audiobooks are the only thing that have allowed me to continue "reading". Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I got my hands on the audiobook of Royal Wedding (which is the final book in the series), and have been listening to that.  Well, last week I get home, and guess what was in the mail?? The ENTIRE series on audiobook!!  My husband legitimately ordered me The Princess Diaries Series  on AUDIOBOOK!!! So I have something to listen to over the next YEAR! Anyway, here is my review for the audiobook of Royal Wedding , the final installation in the Princess Diaries Series . From Goodreads : For Princess Mia, the past five years since college g...

Don't Even Think About It by Sarah Mlynowski (Audiobook)

Image
Hey Everyone, I have another audiobook review for you!  This one was a pretty quick one! From Goodreads : Contemporary teen fiction with romance, secrets, scandals, and ESP from the author of Ten Things We Did (And Probably Shouldn't Have).  We weren't always like this.  We used to be average New York City high school sophomores.  Until our homeroom went for flu shots. We were prepared for some side effects.  Maybe a headache.  Maybe a sore arm.  We definitely didn't expect to get telepathic powers.  But suddenly we could hear what everyone was thinking.  Our friends.  Our parents.  Our crushes.  Now we all know that Tess is in love with her best friend, Teddy.  That Mackenzie cheated on Cooper.  That, um, Nurse Carmichael used to be a stripper.   Since we've kept our freakish skill a secret, we can sit next to the class brainiac and ace our tests.  We can dump our boyfriends right before...

Winter (#4 in the Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer (Audiobook)

Image
Hello Everyone, Because of my crazy schedule, switching between student teaching, school, and work, I have not had time to pick up a book in months.  I am counting down to when I get start again!  It is looking like towards the end of May, but then it also depends on my sanity at this point, because it is looking a little iffy at this point.  All I know, that this summer better involve some fun and relaxing time!  I am tired! The only "fun" thing I have been able to do (and that depends on your definition of "fun"), is listen to audiobooks as I commute from home to student teaching, student teaching to work, and then at night make the hour long drive to school.  It has been a nice change, because to be honest as much as I had been a music lover before everything happened in my life, I have had a hard time listening to music since my dad passed away.  So audiobooks have been a nice change! Anyway, I have been trying to read Winter  since Christmas...

Image
Hey Guys! So I didn't think I would be finishing another Audiobook this year, but thanks to the 45 minute commute to take my final last night, I finally finished listening to Kody Keplinger's Shut Out ! From Goodreads : Most high school sports teams have rivalries with other schools. At Hamilton High, it's a civil war: the football team versus the soccer team. And for her part, Lissa is sick of it. Her quarterback boyfriend, Randy, is always ditching her to go pick a fight with the soccer team or to prank their locker room. She is done competing with a bunch of sweaty boys for her own boyfriend's attention.   Lissa decides to end the rivalry once and for all: she and the other players' girlfriends go on a hookup strike. The boys won't get any action from them until the football and soccer teams make peace. What they don't count on is a new sor...

Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Fanny Merkin (Audiobook Review)

Image
Hey Everyone, So it's been a while.  Unfortunately everything is just completely insane in my life.  With a mixture of school and personal problems I've just honestly not had the mind power to read.  However, because I have a 45 minute commute to my school every Monday and Wednesday I was able to listen to another audiobook for the audiobook challenge I'm participating in this year! That audiobook was Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Fanny Merkin, read by Allyson Ryan. From Goodreads : Young, arrogant tycoon Earl Grey seduces the naïve coed Anna Steal with his overpowering good looks and staggering amounts of money, but will she be able to get past his fifty shames, including shopping at Walmart on Saturdays, bondage with handcuffs, and his love of BDSM (Bards, Dragons, Sorcery, and Magick)? Or will his dark secrets and constant smirking drive her over the edge? My Thoughts: I definitely laughed during this one!  It's a parody after all of Fifty Shades of...

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Image
So I am taking part in The Harry Potter Reading Challenge in 2012,   Like MANY people around the world, I got into The Harry Potter fever when the books were released.  I started reading the series when I was in the 4th grade, in 2001, so about three year after the first book was officially published.   My mom and I got completely hooked on the series, and even though I hate to admit it, my mom probably got more into than me...for a while it was quite the competition on who could read the book faster... :) Every year, when that new Harry Potter book was released, my mom ran to Target the morning of the release around 6 in the morning, so she could arrive at Target when they opened at 8 (here's the funny thing, we don't actually live that far away from Target, maybe half an hour!), so she could come quickly home and start reading the newest book. That's the unfortunate part, because since my mom was the one to run out and get it, she was the one who got to rea...
