IMM #6

In My Mailbox was originally started by The Story Siren and it's where anyone can participate and let everyone know what they got in books, and other book related things, throughout a given time.  Anyone with a blog can join in, and you can post once a week, once a month, or whenever you choose to.

  2. Are You There God, It's Me Margaret was my favorite book when I was 12. I think I read it four times that year.

I absolutely loved Can You Keep a Secret, but have you read Remember Me? That might be my absolute favorite Kinsella book. And her newest, I've Got Your Number, was pretty cute.

    1. Yes Tuck Everlasting was a gorgeous book! I haven't read the Giver yet, but hopefully very soon! It should be a quick one, since it's less than 200 pages I believe! :)
      Thanks for stopping by!

    1. The Host is pretty good. It was REALLY slow at the beginning, but got really good near the end.

And yes it is A LOT!! But it is over a month, not over one week like most people do for their IMMs :). But yes, still definitely a lot!!

  9. The Giver is a CLASSIC :) happy reading!

  10. That is a LOT of books!! Wow. I am going to look up those NetGalley ones and free Amazon ones you recommended :). Here are some recommendations for you too, I saw this on a Facebook post from Sarah Ockler (YA author) last night -
    Belles, by Jen Calonita
Take a Bow, by Elizabeth Eulberg --> which looks a LOT like Starring Me, the one you posted, minus the religious aspects.

    Happy Reading!

  11. PS: Question for you - how did you get the links (Home, Reviews, etc.) at the top of your page? I'm considering adding that for Yes/No Films but not sure how to do it. (you are on Blogger too, yes?)

  12. LOVEEEEE the Stephanie Plum series! They're hysterical! Grandma Mazur is hands-down one of the funniest characters I've ever read. She reminds me of my Nana, so it makes it that much better.

The Giver is excellent. I read it when I was younger and it was one of my favorite books.

You got an awesome haul, enjoy!

Thanks for commenting on my IMM!

  14. So I stumbled upon your blog a while back (when Meg Cabot actually linked it on Twitter). It was about the Meg-A Readers Blog Hop. I commented then too because I loved how you had the high school memory with the Princess Diaries... so I started looking through a couple of posts and saw your book goals for 2012 and your columns of book suggestions, etc. Can I just say I love your taste in books?!

I love your blog! I decided to start one too because it looks like a great way to keep track of what you're reading and seeing what others might think of the same book.

Just wanted to let you know that.

Also I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since the movie of Tuck Everlasting... (my jaw just dropped).

Stephanie Plum series = Awesome! Book 9 is my all time favorite I think.

Percy Jackson is a fun series and I like the Kane Chronicles too. Riordan is awesome at fusing mythology to modern times lol.

I just got the City of Bones book from the library.

Have you ever read Tamora Pierce novels? You should check those out. :)

    Happy Reading!

    1. Wow thank you so much! You seriously just made my day! :)

And I know!? 10 years!! Tuck Everlasting! It feels like it was just last year lol

And I've only read book one so far in Stephanie Plum, but working my way into owning all of them through thrift store, free places, lol. It's a great way to not to have to pay a ton of money on such a huge series!

And Tamora Pierce? Never heard of her, I'll definitely have to check it out! :)

OH and City of Bones!! I hope you enjoy them!! I LOVE them!! I'm reading "Clockwork Prince" (the second in Cassandra Clare's "Infernal Devices" series!) :)

    2. I've been hearing Cassandra Clare a lot all over the place so I decided to finally check it out! I normally haunt the Young Adult Fiction section at the library but I've been so busy I stopped reading for a while... but I'm picking it up again lol.

I know what you mean about picking up books for cheap too. At my library they have a place where paper back books are 50 cents each or 3 for one dollar and all hard cover books are a dollar... I bought sooo many books.... lol.

I own almost all the Plum novels. I got the 3 Plums in 1 books 1-3 (I want to get the next omnibus for books 4-6) and then I think I got books 7-12 for a couple bucks off of ebay (someone sold it as a set). After that I got them for like 5 bucks every year in the summer when the newest book came out at B&N. Yay for bargain books!

I think the Plum books are great... till about book 13? 14? I'm not sure, but I really hope they get better lol. Also the movie isn't that great lol...

Tamora Pierce is a fantasy writer. I'm not huge into fantasy but I read one of her books for book club and I got hooked lol. She writes mostly about strong independent female heroes. Its got mages, rogues, and knights. Fun stuff. I would start with her first series if you're interested (Songs of the Lioness Quartet).

Another author I recommend is Ann Rinaldi. I love her historical fiction books. I think my favorite is Girl in Blue.

And the Sammy Keyes series. They're fun too and a fast read because they're JFic.

And I'm going to stop typing out all my suggestions now lollll

    3. LOL I've actually read a Sammy Keyes novel. It's been a while though. I think I read this Hollywood Mummy one in like middle school.

And I'll have to check out this Tamora Pierce :).

And YES< YAY for Bargain Books!!
