A Letter to Ericka L. James

Image
Hello Everyone! Please excuse the absence right now...I'm moving!!! :)  So to say things are a little crazy is an understatement... :) Anyway, I've had it, and I'm done keeping my mouth shut! I want to apologize to a certain author, so I have decided to write her a letter here on The Romance Bookie, to show her that not all of us in the book world are like the people who treated her so poorly in the last couple of days. Dear Ericka L. James, I want to apologize to you, and tell you I am so sorry for the way you have been treated in the last days, and even over the past couple of years by some people in this world.   While I know you are strong, I know it can also be tough, to just hear nothing but negativity from the world, who don't appreciate what you do; I want you to know, there are way more people in the world who DO appreciate what you and so many of our favorite authors do for a living. Not only are you a successful published author, but you are one...

Guest Review from Erin: Breaking Butterflies by M. Anjelais (ARC Review)

Hey Everyone! From  Goodreads : The closest he will ever come to happiness is when he's hurting her. Will she let him? A beautiful and twisted story of first love and innocence lost--written when the author was just eighteen.  Sphinxie and Cadence. Promised to each other in childhood. Drawn together again as teens. Sphinxie is sweet, compassionate, and plain. Cadence is brilliant, charismatic. Damaged. And diseased. When they were kids, he scarred her with a knife. Now, as his illness progresses, he becomes increasingly demanding. She wants to be loyal--but fears for her life. Only the ultimate sacrifice will give this love an ending. Erin's Thoughts on  Breaking Butterflies  by M. Anjelais: I hate to give a less than glowing review, but sometimes it is what it is :(.  I was really intrigued by the premise of this story and it seemed like it had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, this fell short for me by a long ways.  In my opinio...

***WARNING!!! This is an ADULT book containing sexual scenes!!!*** ***ALSO this review may contain some spoilers, so read with caution!*** Hey Everyone! I cannot even tell you how hard it is to have to write this review!  But unfortunately, I have promised to be honest when reviewing the books I read...so here goes. I finished Real  by Katy Evans today.  It was sent to me by the publisher, and I had heard, before reading it, that it has gotten rave reviews! In fact I've read quite a few of those reviews now, because I just can't believe how so many people liked this book...Okay, I am 100% not bashing anyone who enjoyed it, I've mentioned before that when people respect what I like and they don't like it, that I'll respect their opinions. So anyway, instead I'll give you my opinion on this book! But first here's a description from Goodreads : Remington Tate has a bad-boy rep in and out of the ring, a granite-hard body, and a raw, anim...

Vampire Academy (Movie Review)

So guys, I've been on the Vampire Academy craze for the past two weeks now!  I've become absolutely addicted to the books! Addicted! In fact, before I even finished the first one I drove to Barnes and Noble, renewed my membership, and bought book two!  I haven't done that in the longest time! I swear! In fact, the last time I did that was during my Twilight  craze in 2008, during my senior year of high school.  Hmm...vampires make me do crazy things, I guess. ;) Anyway, tonight I saw Vampire Academy, the movie!  After reading the book, I forced myself not to see any trailers, because I wanted to be 100% surprised going in. And this morning, I was hearing some early reviews, saying how awesome it was and how close to the book it was! So naturally, I was excited! Well...I'm just going to go straight to the point... I HATED IT! I'm sorry, I honestly don't use that word very often ("Hate"), but honestly that was one of the WORST movies I have eve...
