The DUFF by Kody Keplinger (ReRead/Re-Reviewing) :)

Image
Hey Everyone!! So this marks the last day of #ReadTheDUFF Read-a-long! I am currently in Florida, enjoying a much needed vacation with my amazing boyfriend at Walt Disney World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but I still wanted to share with you guys once again, a book that is very special and close to my heart! So this is the first time I've ever done this, but for the first time ever I, The Romance Bookie, will be RE-Reviewing a book!!!  Wow, I can't believe I'm doing this! But when you feel so passionate about a story, and it's been years and years since you've reviewed it, why not?! Anyway, I reviewed Kody Keplinger's debut novel, The DUFF back in 2011 ( HERE is that review), shortly after it first was released, and it was one of my very very first reviews! No joke! One of the reasons, why I'm Re-Reviewing The DUFF , is because back in 2011, The DUFF did not get a proper review on it's own.  It was put together with a bunch...

But anyway, I'm here to announce... #ReadTheDUFF!!!!!!!!!!! What is that? You may be asking?   Well, some of you may have heard about a book called The DUFF , by Kody Keplinger.  What some of you may also know is that The DUFF , has been made into a movie, and that it is hitting theaters next month on February 20th!!!  I'm very happy to say, I got to see it last week, and absolutely loved it!!  It was soon funny!!!  My review will be going up on February 20th, so be ready for that!! The DUFF (MOVIE!!!!!!!!)

Image
You guys!! I completely forgot to let you know something!! So shortly after I started The Romance Bookie in 2010, I came across a book, that became my utterly favorite book ever!! It was a book that I could relate to, unbelievably, it was hilarious, and it was written by an author that has been so unbelievably inspiring for me, that I have done everything in my power to support her all of these years! Well, anyway, that book is The DUFF ! DUFF stands for the Designated Ugly Fat Friend, which for those of us always felt like the outcast in our friends' group, then this is a book you can definitely relate to! Earlier this year, Kody Keplinger, the amazing author of The DUFF , announced that The DUFF  was being made into a movie! It's that time now, where the trailer has been posted, and I'm here to share it with you guys!! So...here it is... The DUFF  official trailer! :) YAY!! So while there seem to be some changes, which Kody has addressed HERE , it...

Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 (Twilight Graphic Novel #1) by Stephenie Meyer (Illustrated by Young Kim)

Image
I've been meaning to read Twilight: The Graphic Novel   forEVER!! So when I found it for $4 in a Florida Books-a-Million, I grabbed at the chance to FINALLY read it!! :) From Goodreads : When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret... Beautifully rendered, this first installment of   Twilight: The Graphic Novel  My Thoughts: I recently saw one of the students at the school I work at reading New Moon , and it made me get in the mood to read one of the books again.  I was looking at my to-be-read bookshelf yesterday, and that's when I saw Twilight The Graphic Novel on my shelf!  So I knew it was perfect! Anywa...

Crescendo (#2 in Hush, Hush Series) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Image
Yes!! I have had this one sitting on my shelf for over a year now! I read the first in Becca Fitzpatrick's  Hush, Hush  Series back in December of 2011, and I ended up buying the second book Crescendo  almost immediately thereafter.  And believe me, when I say I've been wanting to read this book, since buying it!! However, due to requests, blog tours, and other obligations I either haven't had the time or forgot every time I did have the chance! But now I finally have!! :) And it was awesome! From  Goodreads : Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever (if that's possible) and what's worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora's archenemy, Marcie Millar. Nora would have hardly noticed Sc...

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

Image
Another favorite!!!! From Goodreads :   "I've left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page. If you don't, put the book back on the shelf, please." So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the "New York Times" bestselling authors of "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist." Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions? Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.  My thoughts: ...

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Image
This past February I got the amazing opportunity to go to a super awesome event in Long Beach, CA.  It was called Passion and Prose . At the event I was not only able to meet my all time favorite author, Meg Cabot, but also DOZENS of other fabulous authors!  It was truly a day to remember for me! Among those amazing people I had the opportunity to meet Andrea Cremer, the author of the Nightshade Series.  She was super sweet, and signed my copy of Nightshade ! Andrea Cremer at the Breathless Panel speaking table My signed copy of Nightshade   Well, I have FINALLY found the time to read Nightshade , after these past seven or eight months! Before I give away too much about what happens, I'll give you the Goodreads description, so hopefully I can avoid giving away too much! LOVE THIS COVER!!! Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with h...

Another book that has made my top favorite books of all time...

Image
You know it's typical!  The few times I borrow a book instead of buy it, I absolutely fall in LOVE with the book.  It happened with Catching Fire ( The Hunger Games #2 ) and it happened with Gayle Forman's second (and hopefully final) novel in her If I Stay Series ; and believe me, it's because I don't want to own the books, (OH I DO!!), it's that since I'm a "starving" college student, my funds are pretty low (but believe me I will find a way to buy this book!! There's always Christmas ;)). I read If I Stay last year, and I remember bawling my eyes out as I stood next to Mia, as she witnessed the world around her crumble, after the accident that changed her life forever.  Now three years later, Where She Went, is in the point of view of Adam, Mia's high school boyfriend, who she left behind when she moved to New York City three years earlier (after recovering from the accident that took her parents and little brother's lives) to pur...
