Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

Another favorite!!!!

From Goodreads:

"I've left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don't, put the book back on the shelf, please."
So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the "New York Times" bestselling authors of "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist." Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?
Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

My thoughts:
I'm just going to get to the point:
I LOVED IT!!!!

I thought this was such a great contemporary teen novel!  I loved the characters, the setting (New York City!!!), the story, oh the story!!! The feelings between Dash and Lily felt very realistic, in that it wasn't over done!
I loved that Dash and Lily, at first seemed like complete opposites, but then as you go on, you realize that they are way more similar than you thought!
There are a couple of scenes I wanted to highlight, because they were just so fabulous!

For instance, at one point Dash compares people to office supplies, it was such a classic scene!
And then here's a quote (which, please keep in my mind its an ARC version, so it may have a few corrections, but this is just such a great quote I have to share!!):
"The rare boy creatures I do meet who aren't either related to me or who aren't gay are usually too attached to their Xboxes to notice me, or their idea of how a teenage girl should look and act comes directly from the pages of Maxim magazine or from the tarty look of a video game character."

Why did I pick that quote?:  Well, it couldn't describe my love life any better! lol

Overall rating:
This book is a combination of so many of my favorite things! It's got New York City!!  It's got elements of one of my all-time favorite movies You've Got Mail!  Just a perfect novel, for my contemporary Young Adult, romance fix! :)

Highly recommend it! :)
