Marriage Vacation by Pauline Turner Brooks (aka Jo Piazza)

Image
Hey Everyone! I finished another book!  I bought this one along with Shrill , when I found an Amazon Books store in NYC last week! I cannot believe I already finished both in less than a week, when I hadn't finished a single book since last July! From Goodreads : In season four of Darren Star's hit TV Land series Younger , the editors of Empirical Press are shocked and deeply moved when they read Marriage Vacation , an autobiographical novel by the publisher's estranged wife, Pauline Turner Brooks.  Knowing the book will cause a sensation, they decide they must publish it.  Now you can read what the hype is about. To find herself...she might lose everything. By all appearances, Kate Carmichael had the perfect life: two adorable daughters, a pre-war town house on the Upper East Side, and a husband who ran one of the most successful publishing companies in New York.  But when Kate attends the wedding of two of her oldest friends, and reconnect...

Image
Hey Everyone!! Yay!! Finally a new review!! I'm super excited to say that I got an early copy of Kody Keplinger's latest novel (out today!!!) from the publisher a while ago! Life once again took over, work, school! So my free time has been mostly saved for loved ones. But anyway, I finally finished Lying Out Loud !!!! So anyway!! Let's get to the review!! From Goodreads : Kody Keplinger returns to the world of The DUFF in this brand-new companion novel! Sonny Ardmore is an excellent liar. She lies about her dad being in prison. She lies about her mom kicking her out. And she lies about sneaking into her best friend's house every night because she has nowhere else to go. Amy Rush might be the only person Sonny shares everything with— secrets, clothes, even a nemesis named Ryder Cross. Ryder's the new kid at Hamilton High and everything Sonny and Amy can't stand—a prep-school snob. But Ryder has a weakness: Amy. So when Ryder emails Amy ask...

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Image
Hey Everyone! So the semester has officially started, so I'm back at work and school!  Reading time has unfortunately been cut down again a bit, but it's okay, I'm still attempting to make as much time as possible for reading this year!  Book three for 2015 is done (Review for book #2 is coming soon!)! This time around, I read a book, I've had sitting on my shelf for almost a year, and have been wanting to read since I finished one of this author's novels last year, around this time. Fangirl  by Rainbow Rowell. From Goodreads : From the author of the  New York Times  bestseller  Eleanor & Park . A coming-of-age tale of fan fiction, family and first love.   Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan... But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother le...

Dirty Rowdy Thing (Wild Seasons #2) by Christina Lauren (ARC)

Image
Hey Everyone!! Finally a review for you! :) This one is for Dirty Rowdy Thing  (Wild Season #2) by two of my favorite authors: Christina Lauren! :) From Goodreads : From the New York Times bestselling author of Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Stranger, and Beautiful Player, Book Two of the brand-new Wild Seasons series that started with Sweet Filthy Boy—a story of friends, love, and lust. Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other...which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.   My Thoughts: First off, I'm a huge fan of Christina and Lauren's!  I have reviewed and loved all of their books! I reviewed the first book in the Wild Season  Series,  Sweet Filthy Boy  back in May when it first came out and truly enjoyed it...

Afterburn and Aftershock by Sylvia Day

Image
***WARNING!!!! THIS BOOK CONTAINS SUBJECT MATTERS THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18!!!*** So I did quite a bit of reading over the weekend, two reviews (including this one) that have been posted, and one that will be coming up in the coming months :). But for now, here's my review for Sylvia Day's recent release of Afterburn and Aftershock ! From Goodreads : Never mix business with pleasure. Never bring politics into the bedroom. In a way I did both when I took Jackson Rutledge as a lover. I can't say I wasn't warned. Two years later, he was back. Walking into a deal I'd worked hard to close. Under the tutelage of Lei Yeung, one of the sharpest businesswomen in New York, I had picked up a thing or two since Jax walked away. I wasn't the girl he once knew, but he hadn't changed. Unlike the last time we'd drifted into each other's lives, I knew exactly what I was dealing with... and how addictive his touch could be. The ...

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Image
Happy Sunday Everyone!! Have any of you ever read a book where you found yourself wanting to do something afterwards, because it inspired you?   Second Chance Summer  by Morgan Matson is one of those books.  I found myself wanting to run to my parents and giving both of them a big fat hug and telling them I love them. From Goodreads : From the Flying Start author of  Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour , a powerful novel about hope in the face of  heartbreak.   Taylor Edwards’ family might not be the closest-knit—everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled—but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains. Crammed into a place much smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to know each other again. And Taylor discovers that the peop...

Beautiful Beginning (#3.5 in Beautiful Bastard Series)

Image
***WARNING***ADULT CONTENT INVOLVING INAPPROPRIATE SUBJECTS FOR ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18!!!*** Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! This is a bittersweet moment...in one sense it's exciting to read the conclusion of a series, just because it's nice to add that final book to your collection on your bookshelf; but at the same time it's sad to say goodbye to characters you've slowly begun to know as friends...maybe that's just me though! I love getting to know characters, and Christina Lauren's Beautiful Bastard series was no exception! From Goodreads : Love that Cover! Back when not being able to stand each other also meant not being able to keep their hands off each other in  Beautiful Bastard , neither Bennett nor Chloe could have seen this day coming. An exasperated bride who just wants to elope. A determined groom whose only focus is getting to the wedding night. And—of course—a whole lot of name calling. My Thoughts: This series ...

Finding It (Losing It #3) by Cora Carmack (ARC) (Blog Tour)

Image
I am so excited to be asked to be a part of the blog tour of Cora Carmack's new book Finding It, the third book in Cora's Losing It series! I am a huge fan of Cora's first three books (that's including Keeping Her , the novella she wrote for the series too!)  in the series, and was definitely excited to read this new one! Unfortunately, while I enjoyed this one, I will admit it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for... From Goodreads : Sometimes you have to lose yourself to find where you truly belong... Most girls would kill to spend months traveling around Europe after college graduation with no responsibility, no parents, and no-limit credit cards. Kelsey Summers is no exception. She's having the time of her life . . . or that's what she keeps telling herself. It's a lonely business trying to find out who you are, especially when you're afraid you won't like what you discover. No amount of drinking or dancing can chase away Kelsey...

Reflected In You (#2 in Crossfire Trilogy) by Sylvia Day

Image
***WARNING***THIS BOOK CONTAINS GRAPHIC ADULT CONTENT, NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18!!*** From  Goodreads : Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.  We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession... My Thoughts: Reflected In You is the the second book in the Crossfire Trilogy ! While, I admit I enjoyed this one, because of the dynamic relationship between Gideon and Eva, I will admit that at the same time it got to  b...

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire Blog Tour (ARC Review)

Image
So let me just begin by saying I'm sooooooooo darn excited right now!!! Why?? Well, I'm a stop on the Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire Blog Tour!!!!!!!! Yay!!! So I received Walking Disaster a few weeks ago in the mail, and wow!  I seriously pretty much ate that book alive! From Goodreads : Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much? Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes. My Thoughts: So first off, it's been almost two years since I read Beautiful Disaster (if you don't believe me, go HERE! )!  I read it when it was st...
