Crescendo (#2 in Hush, Hush Series) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Image
Yes!! I have had this one sitting on my shelf for over a year now! I read the first in Becca Fitzpatrick's  Hush, Hush  Series back in December of 2011, and I ended up buying the second book Crescendo  almost immediately thereafter.  And believe me, when I say I've been wanting to read this book, since buying it!! However, due to requests, blog tours, and other obligations I either haven't had the time or forgot every time I did have the chance! But now I finally have!! :) And it was awesome! From  Goodreads : Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever (if that's possible) and what's worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora's archenemy, Marcie Millar. Nora would have hardly noticed Sc...

So Barnes and Noble is shipping out copies of Miranda Kenneally's new book again!!! :)  Yay, and I got my copy of Things I Can't Forget last week, and just knew I had to devour it asap! :) It's not supposed to be released until March 1st! :) From Goodreads :   Companion to Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker. But this summer, everything is different… This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt…with her. Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer

Image
***WARNING*** May Contain Spoilers from First book in S eries!!*** I've FINALLY read it!!! Yes!!! I have honestly been waiting since February 23rd, 2012, last year to get my hands on Scarlet , the second book in the Lunar Chronicles !  February 23rd, being the day I finished reading Cinder of course! :) And OMG, the wait was 100% worth it!! :) From Goodreads : Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times -bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark ...

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

Image
Another favorite!!!! From Goodreads :   "I've left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page. If you don't, put the book back on the shelf, please." So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the "New York Times" bestselling authors of "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist." Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions? Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.  My thoughts: ...

Rebecca’s Lost Journals, Volume 1: The Seduction (Inside Out Novellas #1) by Lisa Renee Jones

Image
***WARNING*** ADULT Novel, containing mature content, not intended for anyone under the age of 18!!*** I read Lisa Renee Jones's If I Were You last July, and got absolutely hooked!  So when Lisa emailed me a few weeks ago, asking me to read her new novella series (volume 1), I accepted ecstatically! From Goodreads :   An Inside Out novella... The secret life of Rebecca and the men who have seduced her. These are the journals Sara never sees, but you the reader, will! More details! The journals read like stories and begin the first time Rebecca visits the gallery in the INSIDE OUT TRILOGY. You will meet Mark, Chris, Ava, Amanda, Ricco, and all the series characters as she does AND there are tons of clues to what happens in BEING ME in the first 4 serials. They are woven within the story ready for your discovery, as is Rebecca's dark, erotic journey. My thoughts: This is a great read, when you are just looking for something short!  It's quite the...

Guilty Pleasures (#1 in Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Series) by Laurell K. Hamilton

Image
Aside from the friends I've made blogging, I don't have very many friends who enjoy reading.  In fact, none of them read like I do.  So, when one of these friends recommends a book to me, I simply must check it out! One of my good friend, lent me her copy of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novels.  The first one, which is called Guilty Pleasures. From Amazon (because Goodreads had an awful description): Anita Blake may be small and young, but vampires call her the Executioner. Anita is a necromancer and vampire hunter in a time when vampires are protected by law--as long as they don't get too nasty. Now someone's killing innocent vampires and Anita agrees--with a bit of vampiric arm-twisting--to help figure out who and why. Trust is a luxury Anita can't afford when her allies aren't human. The city's most powerful vampire, Nikolaos, is 1,000 years old and looks like a 10-year-old girl. The second most powerful va...

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Image
So I know everyone is scrambling to get Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl read before the movie hits theaters on the 13th of February! And I am no exception haha :) I love reading the books before I see the movie!  From Goodreads :   "There were no surprises in Gatlin County. We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what I thought. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong. There was a curse. There was a girl. And in the end, there was a grave. Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever. Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has ...

Shiver by Maggie Steifvater Review

Image
Wow, WOw, WOW!!!! I can NOT believe that it has taken me this long to read Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver ! Honestly, can't believe I have waited THIS LONG!!! From Goodreads :   For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. My Thoughts: Wow, just Wow!  I can't even tell you how much I loved this book!  Everything about this book!  I loved the characters, the story, the writing (oh the writing! So go...

The List by Siobhan Vivian

Image
The List is one of those books that I have been looking forward to reading since its release last April (2012).  I almost traded it with someone a couple of weeks ago, but that ended up not working out.  So when I went to the library last week, and found it in the Teen Section, I was excited and checked it out without even thinking about it. Let me just start by saying that for the fact this book has been on my to-be-read list since last April, I was disappointed. From Goodreads :   An intense look at the rules of high school attraction -- and the price that's paid for them. It happens every year. A list is posted, and one girl from each grade is chosen as the prettiest, and another is chosen as the ugliest. Nobody knows who makes the list. It almost doesn't matter. The damage is done the minute it goes up. This is the story of eight girls, freshman to senior, "pretty" and "ugly." And it's also the story of how we see oursel...

Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly Review

Image
I've officially read my first book of 2013!!! Only 99 more to go!!! :) This first book is called Waking Up Married , and it is by Mira Lyn Kelly! From Goodreads :   Her first thought: "Who are you?" It's the morning after her cousin's bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she's in a stranger's penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy...husband! Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter...no, Connor Reed and she's gone from first meet to marriage in one night! Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor's shocking bombshell? "I don't want a divorce." My thoughts: A cute contemporary novel!  It was a nice simple relaxing read, that didn't need you to be thinking a lot.  However, I was confused at times about the main char...

2012 Challenges Wrap-up!!

Image
Wow, 2012 is officially over!!  Since I've already reflected on last year (haha, I remember it like it was yesterday...), it's time to wrap-up the challenges I participated in 2012! 1.  The Harry Potter Challenge!   The Harry Potter Reading Challenge of 2012 Okay, so I originally read Harry Potter around the time they are came out! I started in 4th grade, which for me was in 2000 (so two-three years after the first was first released).  I LOVE this series! But I've been trying to listen to them all year in audiobook form (which I something I've never done before for a book!) I'm really enjoying the Narrator's voice, but unfortunately, I was only able to completely listen to the first three books. So I've decided to extend this challenge until the end of next year, just for my own personal goal! :) So final count, I completed: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers' Stone Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secret Harry Potter and the Pri...

It's almost 2013!! Which means a new year of goals, challenges, and changes coming our way!
