First Date by Krista McGee Review

First Date by Krista McGee is a fairly new release, December 2011.

First Date is the story of Addy, and her journey to truly accepting God into her life, and not being ashamed of it.  Addy is a 17 year old teenage girl, who attends a small private Christian school, and is chosen to go on a show where she will be competing against 30 girls to see who will get to go on a date with the President's son (which is very similar to The Bachelor).
Addy has had a tough life, her parents were tragically killed while on a Missionary mission, and has lived with her Uncle since the age of 6.  God is the most important person in her life.  And when she is chosen to be on the show, all she can think is, Why Me??  She absolutely does not want to be a part of this show, in fact, she just wants to continue living her quiet, boring life, so she can continue working towards her chances of getting into a Ivy League college.
But when Addy meets the President's son, everything changes.  She finds herself falling for him just like all the other girls on the show.  However, while Addy only has real friend on the show, the other girls can't stand Addy, because they think she playing the audience to get the most attention on the show.

However, while no one on the show, but her roommate and one of the crew member, and the President's son, actually seem to want Addy on the show, it seems everyone else around her is fighting the exact opposite.

With the help from God, Addy finds herself moving up every week into the next round, and along the way, she learns a lot about herself and continues to wonder, Does the President's son really like her??

First Date was a fun easy read.  A cute story; however I was sort of waiting for more of a conflict to occur in the story that was current involving Addy.  I mean, a lot does go on in the story, but a lot of it is about Addy's past, and the parts that are from the present are all talk, and not really any doing.  I did enjoy reading the book though, probably because I've been reading a lot of Paranormal stories, and needed a little lovey dovey book for once :).

If you're looking for a easy read, and are a strong believer in Christianity, and you want a cute little teenage (a bit younger) read, then this is probably a good book for you.  However, I do have one warning: there is A LOT of praying, and talk about the Christian faith.  I didn't have a problem with it, but some people might, so if you are one of those people, this is probably not the book for you.

Overall Rating:

Alright everyone, I'll talk to you all tomorrow again, when I have a special post up!  I'm really looking forward to it!!

Have a great day!!
