IMM #1

So here's another one of those changes for the New Year that I was talking about :).  In My Mailbox was originally started by The Story Siren and it's where anyone can participate and let everyone know what they got in books, and other book related things, throughout a given time.  Anyone with a blog can join in, and you can post once a week, once a month, or whenever you choose to.
For The Romance Bookie, I have chosen to post once a month on a Sunday.  I do usually get a few books a month, but not a ridiculous amount (usually), so I think this will work better then doing it once a week.

A lot of blogs participate in this, so I'm really excited to take a part in it too :).

For my First EVER In My Mailbox:

Keep in mind this list includes Christmas, and the books I got with my X-Mas gift cards, so it's quite a bit for this post.

In books I got:
Where She Went By Gayle Forman (I loved this book so much, I asked for it for Christmas :)
Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin (I got this book in the Clearance section at Barnes and Noble for around $7!! And it's a Hardcover!!)
Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
When Irish Guys are Smiling by Suzanne Supplee (got this one at a Thrift Store for only a $1!!!)
Chicken Soup Story Behind the Song (I got this for Christmas from my Mama, love these books, so I'm really looking forward to reading it :))
Take Me There by Susanne Colasanti (bargain section online at Barnes and Noble.com for under $3!)
Wings by Aprilynne Pike
Vanished by Meg Cabot (#3-4 in 1-800 series)
And not pictured:
Code Name Cassandra by Meg Cabot (#2 in 1-800 series)

Now to E-books:
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
Entwined by Heather Dixon
Vesper by Jeff Sampson
Withering Tights by Louise Rennison
Bumped by Megan McCafferty
Lucky by Rachel Vail
Destined by Jessie Harrell
The Priest and the Peaches by Larry Peterson (this is a ARC, I am participating in the Blog tour in February for this book! I'm really looking forward to that!!)

And then I got a nice surprise in the mail when I got a postcard from Beth Revis, the author of Across the Universe, which I haven't read yet, but heard great things about.  I won it in her 200 giveaway contest.  It was the smallest prize in the whole event, but I'm still very excited to have gotten something in the end.  It's a great little card, that will look great on my wall :).

Now I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  Unfortunately I'm trying to get over this nasty cold I got this week; but luckily I get to rest today, and read outside in the wonderful sun here in Wonderful Sunny Southern California :).

  1. I held out on IMM for so long myself! And then I only did a book loot a couple times of month...and then it got to the point where, with NetGalley and all, I had a ton of stuff, so now I've caved in. Eek! You have a ton of great books in your post! I have ELSEWHERE sitting here ready to be read. I bought it as a bargain book from BN last year and didn't read it, but I LOVED Zevin's ALL THESE THINGS I'VE DONE, so... *shrug* Soon! Great ebooks, too. I've read and loved so many of these!! Some of my 2011 favorites are in there, too: DELIRIUM, UNEARTHLY, ENTWINED...! I still need to read my copies of BUMPED and DESTINED! Enjoy all your awesome books!
