Zac Efron AND Nicholas Sparks TOGETHER??!!
I originally read The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks back in December of 2010 (REVIEW HERE!), and I LOVED it! I have read almost every Nicholas Sparks book there is, except Safe Haven, The Best of Me, and Two Weeks With my Brother. They are all beautiful, dramatic romance novels that can almost have a guarantee that you'll find tear stains in my copies.
Anyway, yesterday I went to see The Lucky One (starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling) with a friend in theaters!
So Zac Efron? Well, let me just begin by saying I have the biggest crush on that hottie since his High School Musical days. In fact, this is embarrassing to admit, but when I was fourteen I received a signed Zac Efron poster from Popstar! magazine, and it's been hanging on my wall for years :). I just can't take it down!
He is one Hottie McHotHot!
ANYWAY, enough of Zac's hotness...for now...
So the movie version of The Lucky One was beautiful! Even though I've enjoyed every Nicholas Sparks movie released, there were still times for a couple of them where I was disappointed with certain parts. For instance, in The Last Song I was disappointed (for one) that Miley Cyrus played the main character, and even though she did a great job on the role, I do feel that they could have at least given her Ronnie's famous purple stripe in her hair! Like seriously, how much does that cost? $5 for an extension from Clair's?! Another one, that I was a little disappointed with was Dear John. I can't remember exactly which parts were, but I do remember that they had changed so much the movie quite a bit from the movie.
Don't get me wrong though! I DID enjoy them!
However, The Lucky One was one of Nicholas Sparks movies where I wouldn't have changed a thing! It was so beautiful! And even though I REALLY need to reread the ending, to make sure I'm not mistaken, but I think they actually left the ending that the book had, and didn't change it! Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling's performance was beautiful! The chemistry they showed on camera was very noticeable I felt, and Zac's performance was so realistic. He had emotions of a Marine down to the dot, especially for one who had to go through such hard times while on duty.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and hope all of you get a chance to see it! It's a perfect date movie, going out with the girl friends, or even just wanting to see a movie by yourself type of movie! So go see it! :)
Happy Weekend!
I hope to have a new review up soon. I got a cold the other day, so my head can't concentrate very well right now, so it's been taking me a little longer to finish!

The Romance Bookie :)
I have yet to see this movie, but your post is starting to convince me to read it ASAP. Great post and thanks for commenting on my song review of A Place in This World. I agree, that song is like the soundtrack to my life. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen! I was afraid I sounded delirious in this post lol, because I am not thinking straight today. But I did truly enjoy both the movie and book! This one was as great as The Notebook and A Walk to Remember! :)
DeleteI read The Lucky One awhile ago and it was my first Sparks book. I really enjoyed it. But I am going to wait for this one to come to DVD. I am glad to hear you loved it. Now I won't be putting it off forever. :)
ReplyDeleteOh good, Alysia! And I hope you read some of Nicholas Sparks' other novels in the future :)
