The Trip of a Lifetime to New York City!: Day 1 & 2: Arrival, Liberty and Ellis Island

Image
Hello! Even though it isn't necessarily (but partially!) book related, I wanted to share my trip to New York City over Spring Break with you. So anyone who really knows me, knows that New York City has always been my dream trip.  I haven't wanted to go before I even knew what California was. No joke! Being born in Germany, and living there for the first seven years of my life, I was exposed to a lot of movies made in the USA.  While I know now that a lot of them were made in Hollywood, I didn't know that at the time. One place in these movies stuck out to me particularly. New York City. Thinking back, my memories have me watching the movie We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story . Image from IMDB I don't think many people actually know about this movie, but for some reason this movie started my love for New York City. It's funny, because I watched it recently to show my husband (to get ready for our trip!), and not all that much of the city was...

The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen (ARC Review)

Hey Everyone! Last night I finished a book that is not only not officially released yet, and second from an author that I absolutely love, but haven't read since 2013!   Sarah Dessen! Sarah Dessen has been one of my absolute favorite authors since my freshman year of high school, which is when I borrowed my first Sarah Dessen book from my high school library, to get those 1,000 pages in that I needed to read for my English class.  It was love at first read!  I devoured anything Sarah Dessen and Meg Cabot during those years, and have collected each of their books since then to put on my own book shelf at home.   Meg Cabot I went to when I wanted a funny young adult read and Sarah was my go-to "I need my real teen read".  Both held and still hold a strong love for reading in my heart. Last night I finished Sarah Dessen's new novel, The Rest of the Story , which is set to release on June 4th, 2019.  I received an ARC from Sarah Dessen hersel...

Always and Forever, Lara Jean (#3 in the To All the Boys I've Loved Before Series) by Jenny Han

So I did it! I finished my first series in YEARS!! I have completed the To All the Boys I've Loved Before  Trilogy!  I am pretty dang proud of myself right now, because I don't remember the last series I finished completely!  I mean I have finished plenty of series, but not in recent years! So here is my review of the final book in the To All the Boys I've Loved Before Trilogy, Always and Forever, Lara Jean  by Jenny Han. From Goodreads: Lara Jean is having the best senior year. And there's still so much to look forward to; a class trip to New York City, prom with her boyfriend Peter, Beach Week after graduation, and her dad's wedding to Ms. Rothschild.  Then she'll be off to college with Peter, at a school close enough for her to come home and bake chocolate chip cookies on the weekends.   Life couldn't be more perfect! At least, that's what Lara Jean thinks... until she gets some unexpected news. Now the girl who dreads c...

Hey Everyone! So Saturday I got to attend my 4th year in a row at YA'll West!  If you don't know what YA'll West   is, it is one of the biggest West Coast Young Adult book festivals.  It is the sister festival to YA Fest, which happens on the East Coast every year.  It is a lot of fun, has a TON of authors, panels, and a lot of free stuff that is given away each year. I have really enjoyed my four years going to YA'll West, and have met SOOOOO many amazing writers and readers there!  Among the authors I have met there are:  Simone Elkeles, Tahereh Mafi, Melissa de la Cruz, Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia, Christina Lauren, Libba Bray, Rainbow Rowell, Richelle Mead, Susanne Colasanti, Kody Keplinger, Ransom Riggs, David Levithan, Jessica Spotswood, Veronica Roth, Allyson Noel, Ally Condie, and sooo many more!! I am getting older though, 28 years old this year, and I am starting to feel a bit old to be going to these events.  YA'll West is getting...
