"What Happened to Goodbye"...it became a hit!!!
Let me just start by saying, "I LOVE SARAH DESSEN'S BOOKS!!!" I have read every single one of them, and loved them ALL!! What Happened to Goodbye was no exception.
In Sarah Dessen's newest novel Mclean has been moving for the past two years from place to place with her dad, who helps restore restaurants. After having had to go through a painful divorce with her parents, her relationship with her mom is terrible, due to the fact that Mclean's mom was the one responsible for the divorce. Newly married, with two year old twins (do the math...) Mclean's mother is living a separate life from the one Mclean and her dad have chosen.
Iventing a new identity in each place they have been to, Mclean is surprised to hear herself use her real name for the first time in two years, when her dad and her move to the newest town where a struggling restaurant is in need of some serious help before it goes down. In this town, she meets some great friends, along with a genius neighbor named Dave, who she becomes especially close with ;).
At the end Mclean is left with two choices: move back with her mom and her new family? or Go to Hawaii with her dad for his job at a new restaurant? Unless by some miracle things change, Mclean has no choice but to leave behind a new life that she has actually grown to love...
This book, just like most of Sarah Dessen's other books had the heart felt story that I love to read. Love, friendship, family...all in this novel, with a couple of funny comments here and there. Just my type of novel :).
That's it from me once again! I hope everyone has a great weekend and coming up next...Overbite by Meg Cabot, the second in the Insatiable series!!
