Guest Review from Erin: Take Me On (Pushing the Limits #4) by Katie McGarry
From Goodreads:
I LOVE THIS BOOK!! I LOVE KATIE MCGARRY! When I first began reading Pushing the Limits I wasn't really expecting to like it. In fact, I assumed it would just another YA contemporary romance with al the same old, same old angsty stuff going on! But fortunately for me, I ended up totally LOVING this book!! So of course, I immediately went out and got the sequels (Dare You To and Crash Into Me) and loved those too!! I am so happy to have found Katie McGarry!! I think I've said this before, but this one totally surpassed all my expectations!! Take Me On came out May 27th, so I went and picked up a copy immediately! I think I read in a day and just like all of the previous books, I LOVED IT!!
Technically, I guess you could read any of these books as a stand alone, but seeing as many of the same characters appear and are interconnected, it makes a lot more sense to read them all and in order! This time, Take Me On features Rachel's brother West and a new character named Haley! You meet West in Crash Into Me, but this book is his time to shine! They were both great characters and so much fun to read! I didn't get annoyed with any of the characters, which happens a lot sometimes (and it usually ends up with me with tired eyes from all the eye-rolling), so I'm always glad to find characters I genuinely like. The thing I love about Katie McGarry's books are that they have just the right amount of angst! The characters face a lot of emotional problems without obscene amount of drama, which is perfect! And the romance!!!! Always so good - super sweet and cute!!! I recommend this to EVERYONE and I hope everyone does get a chance to read Katie McGarry because she is just SO AWESOME! (Sorry for all the loud all-caps shouting - I'm just so excited!!! :))
Rating:
By the way, the next in the series, Breaking the Rules, which features Echo and Noah again (main characters from Pushing the Limit), is coming out in December and I'm already excited to read that one!! CAN'T WAIT!! :D
Acclaimed author Katie McGarry returns with the knockout new story of two high school seniors who are about to learn what winning really means.
Champion kickboxer Haley swore she'd never set foot in the ring again after one tragic night. But then the guy she can't stop thinking about accepts a mixed martial arts fight in her honor. Suddenly, Haley has to train West Young. All attitude, West is everything Haley promised herself she'd stay away from. Yet he won't last five seconds in the ring without her help.
West is keeping a big secret from Haley. About who he really is. But helping her-fighting for her-is a shot at redemption. Especially since it's his fault his family is falling apart. He can't change the past, but maybe he can change Haley's future.
Hayley and West have agreed to keep their relationship strictly in the ring. But as an unexpected bond forms between them and attraction mocks their best intentions, they'll face their darkest fears and discover love is worth fighting for.

I'm glad you liked it, I'm looking forward to reading this one. Though I borderline hated West in the last book :) I loved Ethan though and I hope they do a story with him and Abby.
