Image
Hey Everyone! Got another review finally!  Getting out of this reading rut has been more difficult than anticipated, but I finally got my hands on a good one, and one that I've been dying to get my hands on since its release! Fairest  by Marissa Meyer, #3.5 in the Lunar Chronicles.  This is story about Queen Levana that fans have been waiting for since almost the beginning! From Goodreads : In this stunning bridge book between Cress  and Winter  in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana's story is finally told. Mirror, mirror on the wall, Who is the fairest of them all? Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her "glamour" to gain power.  But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived in a very different story -- a story that has never been told... until now. Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death.  This extrao...

The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren by Wendy Toliver

Image
So summer is officially over, and both work and school has started once again.  I know that these next few months are going to crazy busy, so I really wanted to read a no-brainer easy read.  And that's why I picked up one of Simon and Schuster's Romantic Comedies! From Goodreads : Geeky to gorgeous in sixty seconds... Roxy's about to turn sixteen, but life isn't so sweet. As a band geek, Roxy can barely get the cute guys to notice her, much less go out with her. Then, on her birthday, Roxy is transformed into a siren: seductively beautiful with the power to control all men. She thought sirens were an ancient myth, but suddenly Roxy can get any guy she wants with just a few notes on her flute. There are only two rules: don't tell anyone about being a siren, and don't fall in love. When she starts dating Zach, the guy everybody's crushing on, Roxy realizes she could get used to this siren thing...but how can she keep herself from falling in love? M...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 3: Project Princess (#4.5 in the Princess Diaries) by Meg Cabot (GIVEAWAY!)

Image
Day 3 of Meg-A Readers Week! From Goodreads : Princess Mia and her friends volunteer to build a house for the less fortunate during their Spring Break. My Thoughts: This is such a fun short read that can be read in under an hour.  I think it took me like 20 minutes to get through! It's only about 50 pages long.  Of course it's very cute...it's Meg Cabot after all! Mia is her normal teenager self in this one.  Only interested in one thing...Michael.  Or to be more specific...making out with Michael. Does she get her wish? Or is this Spring Break a bust?  Find out in Project Princess  #4.5 in The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot! Overall rating: If you're a fan of The Princess Diaries, then check this one out definitely! I personally think you'll have to have read the previous novels in The Princess Diaries Series in order to understand the back ground for this one, only because otherwise this book might seem a little boring, be...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 1: Princess in the Spotlight (The Princess Diaries #2) by Meg Cabot (GIVEAWAY!)

Image
Still Day One of Meg-A Readers!! From Goodreads : No one ever said being a princess was easy. Just when Mia thought she had the whole princess thing under control, things get out of hand, fast. First there's an unexpected announcement from her mother. Then Grandmère arranges a national primetime interview for the brand-new crown princess of Genovia. On top of that, intriguing, exasperating letters from a secret admirer begin to arrive. Before she even has the chance to wonder who those letters are from, Mia is swept up in a whirlwind of royal intrigue the likes of which hasn't been seen since volume I of The Princess Diaries. My Thoughts: In the second book in the Princess Diaries, Princess in the Spotlight , Mia gets a secret admirer!  We are all hoping it's her secret crush...Michael Moscowitz...but to find out you'll either have had to read the book already, or go out right now and get it and read it to find out for yourself! :) Plus the news her ...

The Fault in Our Stars Movie Review

Image
So yesterday, I once again went into the world of John Green, but this time through a different perspective...through the big screen. I saw The Fault in Our Stars  featuring Shailene Woodley (as Hazel) and Ansel Elgort (as Augustus). I know, I know, pretty much everyone has already seen it!  But due to a very busy fun weekend last week (I celebrated my first anniversary with my boyfriend), I was unable to see it.  In one way I'm very glad that I didn't have to deal with crowds, because I heard theaters were PACKED!! Anyway...to the REVIEW! From IMDb : Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel's other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group. My Thoughts: Wow!  Let's just say I went through another box of ...

Image
So it's been a while since I was with Cat's gang, but thanks to the awesome lady behind this fun loving series, I've finally gotten my conclusion to this trilogy! From Goodreads:   Cat Crawford just wants to be normal—or at least as normal as a daughter of Hollywood royalty can be. And it looks like fate is granting her wish: she’s got an amazing boyfriend, Lucas; her fabulous cousin, Alessandra, living with her; and her dad planning his second marriage to a great future stepmom. That is, until her prodigal mother reveals on national television that she has something important to tell her daughter…causing a media frenzy. Unfortunately, Lucas has his own issues to deal with, including a scandal that could take him away from the first place he’s truly belonged. As secrets are revealed, rumors explode, and the world watches, Cat and Lucas discover it’s n...

Vampire Academy (Movie Review)

Image
So guys, I've been on the Vampire Academy craze for the past two weeks now!  I've become absolutely addicted to the books! Addicted! In fact, before I even finished the first one I drove to Barnes and Noble, renewed my membership, and bought book two!  I haven't done that in the longest time! I swear! In fact, the last time I did that was during my Twilight  craze in 2008, during my senior year of high school.  Hmm...vampires make me do crazy things, I guess. ;) Anyway, tonight I saw Vampire Academy, the movie!  After reading the book, I forced myself not to see any trailers, because I wanted to be 100% surprised going in. And this morning, I was hearing some early reviews, saying how awesome it was and how close to the book it was! So naturally, I was excited! Well...I'm just going to go straight to the point... I HATED IT! I'm sorry, I honestly don't use that word very often ("Hate"), but honestly that was one of the WORST movies I have eve...

Yay Happy Release Day for Rachel Harris's A Tale of Two Centuries !!! :) This is the second book in the My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century  Series, I read the first book  My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century  back October of last year, so I definitely was looking forward to its successor! :) And I'm so excited to say I finished it just in time! :) From Goodreads : Alessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. The Host (Movie) Review

Image
Description and Picture from  IMDB : When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about, proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world. PG-13 Director: Andrew Niccol Written by: Stephenie Meyer (Novel), and Andrew Niccol (Screenplay) Cast: Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Jake Abel, and Diane Kruger My Review: So it's been quite a few years since I read The Host ! In fact, I read it shortly after reading the entire Twilight Saga  by Stephenie Meyer back in mid 2008.  And honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of this book.  I found The Host  book SOOOOO long!, slow, and confusing up until a certain point.  I remember it taking almost 300 pages before I had any idea what was going on, because Meyer was using these made-up words in this world she created.   Here's the thing though about the book...it ended awe...

Beautiful Creatures the Movie (Review)

Image
Image from IMDB So I saw Beautiful Creatures this morning!! :) I read  Beautiful Creatures last month, and thought it was a great unique story! And so of course, I have been looking forward to seeing the movie, which finally came out yesterday on the official Day of Love! My Thoughts: My blogging friend, Liz, over at  Yes/No Films , told me when she saw the movie that they had changed it A LOT from the book!  I was a bit worried, honestly, even after she told me, she still really liked it.  It's always risky, and while I'm usually very open about books being turned into movies (in fact, it's very rare that I don't enjoy the movie), I was looking forward to having this story come alive! But guess what? I had nothing to worry about! While they did change quite a few things, for instance one being that they took out the character Marian, and combined her role as librarian with that of Amma (portrayed by Viola Davis); this movie was still really gr...

Wings by Aprilynne Pike Review

Image
So I've been trying to read Wings for probably about the last two years!  I started reading it two summers ago off of a friend's Nook, and got about a 1/4 way through.  I ended up buying about a year ago at Barnes and Noble, so I could eventually finish it! Well I've FINALLY finished it!! From Goodreads : Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful--too beautiful for words. Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings. In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever. My Thoughts: While that description may be short, it is also the perfect way to describe this book! Aprilynne Pike has an Imagination! An absolute beautiful one!  The description of the wings was gorgeous!  My mom, who actually read this one before me, ...

Safe House by Meg Cabot Review! :)

Image
Safe House by Meg Cabot is the third book in Meg's 1-800-Where-R-You Series.  To see my review for book 1 & 2 go HERE & HERE ! But this is the original cover I'm reading this version Because I don't want to give away too much, since it is a third book in the series, here's the description from Goodreads : JESS MASTRIANI was on vacation when Amber went missing. Most people blame Jess for Amber's brutal slaying, but how could Jess -- even with her psychic ability to find anyone, anywhere -- have stopped the cheerleader from turning up dead, without having known she was even missing? When yet another cheerleader disappears, Jess has a chance to redeem herself. If she can just find the girl before it's too late, maybe Jess will finally have a chance to be part of the in crowd. Except that it's starting to look like being "in" might just get you -- not to mention your loved ones -- killed. So much for popularity. ...

Snow White and the Huntsman Review

Image
So I have been extremely excited about this movie since first hearing about it last summer; and so of course I wanted to see right away this weekend! I went with a few friends last night to a 10:30 showing, which I rarely do, because I am a early morning riser (naturally) and go to bed usually pretty late. But anyway I SAW IT!! I was SO worried before the showing, because a bunch of my friends had seen it on the midnight showing, and said it was awful...but I really liked it! I wasn't like in love with it or anything, but they were saying the acting was terrible, especially on Charlize Theron's part, but I actually thought it was really cool...even if it didn't have as much romance as I normally would have liked to see. Snow White and the Huntsman features Kristen Stewart ( The Twilight Saga movies), Charlize Theron ( Mighty Joe Young ), and Chris Hemsworth ( Thor and my future husband (he just doesn't know it yet, obviously! ;))).  It's the original stor...

Week 3 Recap PLUS Avalon High Review & (!!!) GIVEAWAY!!!

Image
Hey Everyone!! So week 3 has come and gone!! Time is seriously flying!! This week I've got a new review: So last week I was going through Netflix, which I'm TOTALLY hooked on btw!!!, and I saw a title that I hadn't seen since its release. Now before I tell you what the title is, let me just first explain I have an (almost) eleven year old brother who still likes to watch Disney Channel once in a while! That's the excuse I like to use anyway... ;). But nah, I actually don't really watch DC anymore, because it just hasn't been the same in a long time.  I miss my Lizzie McGuire on Friday nights, Kim Possible, Even Stevens, Sister, Sister, and so many others.  Now the only thing that seems to be on is a bunch of fake stories that no normal teenager goes through, like being a teenage witch in training (and it's NOTHING like Sabrina The Teenage Witch !! At least that show dealt with real life things too!!), and other spoiled brats. But ANYWAY enough of ...

"Man, I needed a new pair of old shoes."

Image
"Man, I needed a new pair of old shoes" is definitely the most perfect phrase ever right now, when it comes to my reading! I needed more than anything to read a book that wasn't necessarily planned, I felt like reading, hadn't promised anyone to read, was a cute fun little YA novel, and romantic contemporary! FINALLY!! Welcome, Caller, This is Chloe by Shelley Coriell was exactly what I needed!  Not only did this book have a great story line, but it also dealt with some fabulous vintage shoes!! :) Welcome, Caller, This is Chloe is the story of a high school junior, named Chloe, whose world is falling apart around her.  She's lost her two best friends...in fact they are spreading TERRIBLE rumors about her, that honestly should have her probably questioning their friendship..., she's dealing with a grandmother whose suffering from Parkinson's, dealing with the rumors her so-called best friend spread about her, and dealing with the fact that maybe, jus...

Underworld...the world of Hot men? (ARC Review) :)

Image
***WARNING!! May Contain spoiler from Abandon (the first book in the Trilogy)! Underworld is a sequel!!*** First off I NEED to begin this post with a HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to Meg Cabot!!  Thank you SO much to her, for supporting Meg-A Readers Blog Hop! and for sending me last week that AMAZING box of signed books!! I couldn't even imagine having ONE copy of an ARC of Underworld in my hand before it hit store shelves, but being able to hold TWO!!! WOW that was an amazing feeling! Well anyway, a few days ago when I finished reading my last book, I knew I was supposed to be reading one of the books off my list.  And I did!...at least for about an hour...but you have understand... Underworld , with its gloriously beautiful cover was sitting there on my shelf, MOCKING me!  I swear!  It was just going, "Na, na, na, na, nah! You can't read me, because you have other books to read! Ha-Ha!". Well, after having a book sitting there, and actually mocking me, you h...
