Something in Between by Melissa de la Cruz (ARC)

Hey Everyone! Book #2 of June done!  This is one I have had sitting on my shelf for years!  I got this one as an ARC well before its release at YA'll West in 2016.  But 2016 ended up being a really tough year for me, so it unfortunately just ended up collecting dust on my shelf.   That book is Something in Between  by Melissa de la Cruz.  This one has stuck out to me for quite some time.  I was really excited to read it, because it deals with a subject very near and dear to my heart.  Immigration.  A topic not talked about very much in books in general, but especially Young Adult novels.   I'm actually an immigrant.  I moved to America in 1998, at the age of seven.  I've lived here since then, and never been back to my home country of Germany.  I am actually turning thirty next month, and the day before my 30th birthday will mark 23 years in this country for me.   I am a DACA child.  If you don't know what ...

The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen (ARC Review)

Hey Everyone! Last night I finished a book that is not only not officially released yet, and second from an author that I absolutely love, but haven't read since 2013!   Sarah Dessen! Sarah Dessen has been one of my absolute favorite authors since my freshman year of high school, which is when I borrowed my first Sarah Dessen book from my high school library, to get those 1,000 pages in that I needed to read for my English class.  It was love at first read!  I devoured anything Sarah Dessen and Meg Cabot during those years, and have collected each of their books since then to put on my own book shelf at home.   Meg Cabot I went to when I wanted a funny young adult read and Sarah was my go-to "I need my real teen read".  Both held and still hold a strong love for reading in my heart. Last night I finished Sarah Dessen's new novel, The Rest of the Story , which is set to release on June 4th, 2019.  I received an ARC from Sarah Dessen hersel...

Hey Everyone! So Saturday I got to attend my 4th year in a row at YA'll West!  If you don't know what YA'll West   is, it is one of the biggest West Coast Young Adult book festivals.  It is the sister festival to YA Fest, which happens on the East Coast every year.  It is a lot of fun, has a TON of authors, panels, and a lot of free stuff that is given away each year. I have really enjoyed my four years going to YA'll West, and have met SOOOOO many amazing writers and readers there!  Among the authors I have met there are:  Simone Elkeles, Tahereh Mafi, Melissa de la Cruz, Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia, Christina Lauren, Libba Bray, Rainbow Rowell, Richelle Mead, Susanne Colasanti, Kody Keplinger, Ransom Riggs, David Levithan, Jessica Spotswood, Veronica Roth, Allyson Noel, Ally Condie, and sooo many more!! I am getting older though, 28 years old this year, and I am starting to feel a bit old to be going to these events.  YA'll West is getting...

YALL West 2016

Hello Everyone! Once again, it's been months!  I know, I know, but life is crazy, and so much excitement is happening in my life right now (details in a later post!).  School is finally slowly winding down, I am down to one week left of my first year at university; which means only one more year to go before I FINALLY graduate with my Bachelors!!!! Work is crazy as ever.  I really starting to question whether I want to stay there for another year, or possibly look for something else until I graduate next year. But besides that, there unfortunately has been no time for reading, mainly because when I actually do have a few moments to myself, I am too darn exhausted to even think about picking up a book!  However, that does not mean books have not been on my mind!  In fact, today I got the latest Meg Cabot book in the mail! Can't wait to dig into this one, hopefully latest by the end of next week, when all my classes are over! :) And then I also got to ...
