Wildflower by Drew Barrymore

Hey! In my neighborhood we have this cool book box!  In it we can put books in and take a book when we see something we want to read ourselves.  I love this thing!  I look into multiple times a week, to see if there is anything new; I've put a few in myself too.  Out of that box, I recently found Drew Barrymore's memoir, Wildflower.   I have always loved Drew Barrymore's movies!  Especially the ones she does with Adam Sandler!   Blended is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time!  In fact I watched it last night with my husband for like the hundredth time!  So I was really excited to read her memoir! A lot of us have heard the notorious stories about Drew Barrymore's childhood.  So I was really intrigued to hear her story from the person who actually lived it herself. From Goodreads: Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences she's had...

Shrill by Lindy West

Hey Everyone, I know it's been a while...a long while.  And to be honest, I don't know how many will read this, not that I have ever known; but I'm sure it is no where near how many people used to read.  I'll probably write a post soon, about life updates and such. But I just got back from a life-long dream trip, and had a six hour plane ride.  So what do you do what when you're sitting in the most uncomfortable seat, squished between two people, and can't sleep?  Read! I recently binge-watched the six episodes that Hulu released of the show Shrill .  I didn't realize it was only six episodes long until after I had finished them, and the seventh episode wouldn't load...boooo!!!!! I was super hooked!  How empowering to finally have a show released about a plus size girl kicking ass in the world!  Aidy Bryant was awesome in the show! As someone who has struggled with their weight their entire life, this show immediately caught my attention when...

Laugh It Up!: Embrace Freedom and Experience Defiant Joy by Candace Payne (Audiobook)

Hey Everyone! So who remembers this video? A bunch of you right? Or maybe not, I don't know.  I remember my mom sharing it on Facebook, and then it just showing up everywhere!  Funny thing, I never got around to seeing it, up until about a week ago. I was rather surprised to receive Laugh It Up! Embrace Freedom and Experience Defiant Joy, the audiobook, by Candace Payne (Chewbacca Mom herself!) for Christmas from my mom.  Apparently, Candace Payne is some sort of inspirational speaker now.  She inspires people to believe in joy and just enjoy themselves. Joy. That word... I have never heard that word used so much before.  No joke, the word "joy" must have been used EASILY a hundred times in this book. From Goodreads: The world knows Candace Payne as "Chewbacca Mom", the wife and mother of two from Dallas who captured the hearts of nearly 200 million people around the world with nothing but a toy Chewbacca mask, a smart phone, and infectio...

But I give it 5 Bookies!! I finished my last book for the year!! And I also finished the year with a possibly busted computer!! Which means I'm stuck using my brother's Dell, until I can make it to a near by Mac Store ;(, I miss you Maccie!!! I can't believe I did it! I honestly thought I was going to have to count this one for next year already, but I did it!! So I know in quite a few places it is already 2013, for instance my mom and I just celebrated the New Year with a friend from Germany, who celebrated their New Years at 3 p.m. (West Coast time, US). Well, Anyway, it pretty much is the New Year here too...SO HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Anyway, I read Bossypants by Tina Fey, over these past couple of days. Now, normally I'm honestly not a fan of non-fiction novels, but I've been wanting to read this one for ages!! Okay, since 2011 when it was released... ;) From Goodreads : Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "...
