Bridgerton (Netflix Series) (Not that you probably didn't Already know.)

Hey! Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely Holiday season!  2020 was such a rough year for so many, as we all know, and I just hope everyone was able to make the best of the last little bit, and come into the New Year with positive thoughts, and blessings.    The holidays for my family and I were both very busy, but also very relaxing.  Unfortunately, due to having a new baby, and with the pandemic going on, we had to make some tough decisions; and ended up not being able to celebrate with a lot of our family.  But we made the best of it, and video chatted, and had a few delicious meals, and enjoyed it the best we could.    I also completely spaced, and realized the other day that The Romance Bookie just hit its 10 year blogaversary!   Yeah, I started The Romance Bookie a DECADE AGO!   How crazy is that?! I'll do a post separate from this, if I get a chance, and share my memories with The Romance Bookie!  But t...

Throwback Thursday: Pilot Episode of "7th Heaven"

Image
Hey Everyone, Recently I randomly decided to watch 7th Heaven.   Does anyone remember that show? So the show is actually even a little older than before my time...in that I was five years old when it premiered...and still living in Germany, where I'm not sure the show played? I used to watch reruns of this show once in a while after school when I was in middle school.  It played on ABC Family (now Freeform), along with other 90s sitcoms and shows.   If you don't know what the show is about:  It is about the Camden family, a family of originally 7 (hence the name 7th Heaven.   It is about a mom and dad raising their five children (later on they have twins, so it turns into seven children).  The father is a pastor, and the mom is a stay-at-home taking care of all the day-to-day things needed to raise 5, later 7 children.  The shows lasted for eleven seasons and showed the children growing up.   Image from IMDB Honestly, it wasn't one of my fav...

Dash & Lily Netflix Review

Image
Hey Everyone! Being a new mom my schedule is super sporadic!  I never know how my day is going to go, because it all depends on how my baby feels.   When I do have "free time" it consists of holding him, or having him sleep next to me, while I watch TV.  We've been working on his sleep schedule, but since he is still so very young (7 weeks old), there isn't too much we can do.  One thing that has been a slight problem, but is slowly getting better, is that he doesn't like being alone when he is sleeping.  He somehow always knows when we have left his side, and he freaks out almost immediately and starts crying.  It can be a bit difficult when you're trying to do something (like go to the bathroom! 😂), but I'm enjoying my time so much with him.  And who am I to argue that he is letting me catch up on shows and movies! So yesterday a new show was released on Netflix... Dash & Lily .   It's based on the book by David Levithan and Rachel Co...

Shrill by Lindy West

Hey Everyone, I know it's been a while...a long while.  And to be honest, I don't know how many will read this, not that I have ever known; but I'm sure it is no where near how many people used to read.  I'll probably write a post soon, about life updates and such. But I just got back from a life-long dream trip, and had a six hour plane ride.  So what do you do what when you're sitting in the most uncomfortable seat, squished between two people, and can't sleep?  Read! I recently binge-watched the six episodes that Hulu released of the show Shrill .  I didn't realize it was only six episodes long until after I had finished them, and the seventh episode wouldn't load...boooo!!!!! I was super hooked!  How empowering to finally have a show released about a plus size girl kicking ass in the world!  Aidy Bryant was awesome in the show! As someone who has struggled with their weight their entire life, this show immediately caught my attention when...

13 Reasons Why (Netflix Series) Review

Image
Hey Everyone, This is a sort of Flashback Friday.  Back in 2011, I read and reviewed Jay Asher's book 13 Reasons Why .    What a year 2011 was.  A LOT has happened since then.  It's been 7 years. As many of you know, 13 Reasons Why  was turned into a Netflix series last year.  Well, due to my own problems, and lack-of-internet, mainly problems though, I did not watch the show when it first came out.  I knew I wasn't going to be emotionally "ready" for it.  To be honest, I don't think I was emotionally "ready" for it, when I started watching the show back in December. When my husband and I evacuated for the Thomas Fire , we evacuated to San Louis Obispo, which is about two and a half hours North from where I live.  As some of you may or may not know, Jay Asher, the author of the book actually lives in San Louis Obispo.  So when our hotel had free internet, and we had brought my laptop, I finally turned on that first episode. ...

Random Post #1 (Glee Character analysis)

Image
Happy Friday everyone!! So I realize not everyone watches Glee .  However, I'm one of those viewers that still watches it, however at times am not really sure why anymore, and then other times I just want to never end. I will say this post is for all those people that have seen at least one of the episodes from this season!! AND WARNING!!! This contains spoilers from last night's Break-up episode!! Today I am writing my first...okay, not first, but I'm just going to count it as my first official, random post. It's a character analysis of quite a few of the Glee characters.  Some more in depth, and some not. So here goes: Let's start with the famous... Rachel (Portrayed by Lea Michele):  First off, I just want to say her dialogue has gotten SO much better!! I love how New York has finally given her the reality check she needed.  Now she can see that life doesn't always go your way, or that she's the only talented one in the world. Finn (portr...

I am so bummed, and quite frankly a little pissed, because the season/show finale ended on a complete hook and I wanted MORE!!!! What show?? Jane By Design ;(...RIP So even though I know, I've already used this song for Music Tuesday in the past, I have decided to use it again...in honor of Jane By Design ... So here is this week's song...the theme song to Jane by Design "Work of Art" by Rachel Platten! I will absolutely miss you Jane!! AND BILLY!!! I guess you'll just have to be another show put on repeat on Netflix... ;( The Romance Bookie
