A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder #1) by Holly Jackson

Image
Hey Everyone! I've got some catching up to do!  Hopefully, more reviews will be up very soon, as I've got a list of ones I need to read, for some of the books I've read this year.   I know I am late to the game, but a friend and I have decided to start our little book club together, and for our first book we chose A Good Girl's Guide to Murder  by Holly Jackson. This one has been on my radar for a few months now, mainly because of finding my love for YA Murder-Mystery/Thrillers last year.  I understand, it's been hyped about for quite some time now, but I finally got to find out why. From Goodreads: For readers of Kara Thomas and Karen McManus, an addictive, twisty crime thriller with shades of Serial  and Making a Murderer  about a closed local murder case that doesn't add up, and a girl who's determined to find the real killer -- but not everyone wants her meddling in the past. Everyone in Fairview knows the story. Pretty and popular high school sen...

One of Us is Next (One of Us is Lying #2) by Karen M McManus (Audiobook)

Image
Hey Everyone! Alright, time for the review of book 2 of the One of Us Is Lying series by Karen M. McManus, One of Us Is Next !   From Goodreads: Come on, Bayview, you know you've missed this.  A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one's been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts. Until now. This time it's not an app, though--it's a game. Truth or Dare. Phoebe's  the first target. If you choose to play, it's a truth. And hers is dark. Then comes Maeve  and she should know better--always choose the dare. But by the time Knox  is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it's that they can't count on the police for help. Or protection. Simon's gone, but someone's determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High al...

Hey Everyone! I can't believe I forgot to write a review for this one!  It was so good!  I started listening to it while on my trip, and finished it last week!   One of Us is Lying , the first book in the series by the same name, by Karen M McManus.  From Goodreads: Pay close attention and you might solve this. Nate, the criminal , is already on probation for dealing. Cooper, the athlete , is the all-star baseball pitcher. And Simon, the outcast , is the creator of Bayview High's notorious gossip app. Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn't an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he'd planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, w...

No In Between (Inside Out #4) by Lisa Renee Jones

Image
Hey Everyone!! So it's official! I've completed my reading goal for 2014 by reading 50 books! :)  So glad I made it! I was getting a bit worried there for a second! So for my fiftieth book I read Lisa Renee Jones's fourth book in the Inside Out Series , No In Between ! From Goodreads : The fourth in the Inside Out erotic romance series by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, this steamy novel resolves Chris and Sarah's relationship and leads into Mark's story. "Chris and I have faced our demons and bared our souls to one another in Paris. Now that we are back home in San Francisco, I want to believe that nothing can tear us apart. Not Ava’s accusations against me to the police, or Chris's fear that he will destroy me as he feels he did Amber. And not Mark, who was once too intimately a part of our lives, and who I can see crumbling inside out. He believes he is invincible, just as I want to believe Chris and I are invincible. We h...

Still on My Mind #10

Image
Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. Because I just finished Two for the Dough , I've got Stephanie Plum on the brain!  That's why for this weeks choice for Still on My Mind I've decided to choose One for the Money by Janet Evanovich, which is the first in the Stephanie Plum series. While I'm out on the hunt for book three, Three to Get Deadly , I've got no other choice but just keep me going by the hilarious afterthoughts of reading both One for the Money and Two for the Dough . Goodreads Description: Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, home to wiseguys, average Joes, and Stephanie Plum, who sports a big attitude and even bigger money problems (since losing her job as a lingerie buyer for a department store). Stephanie needs cash--fast--but times are tough, and soon she's ...

Heather Wells is all about mystery...that's what makes a grea...

Meg-A Readers Read-a-Thon Book #2: Big Boned by Meg Cabot

Image
For my Book #2 of the Meg-A Readers Read-a-Thon I read Big Boned (#3 in the Heather Wells mysteries) by Meg Cabot (of course! :)). Before I begin, I HAVE to share with you all a quote from the novel just to give you an example of how hilarious Meg is! From page 5 of Big Boned : (Heather's (& my, for that matter) reaction when she's (I'm) running: "I'll go at my own pace.  Nice and easy.  Here we go.  There, see? I'm doing it. I'm running! Hey, look at me! I'm running! I'm- "Okay, well that's enough of that.  Whew.  I mean, a girl could hyperventilate from doing that.  And seriously, it's my first day.  Don't want to overdo it.  "Also I think I felt something come loose back there.  I'm not trying to overreact or anything, but I think it was my uterus.  Honest.  I think my uterus jiggled free." Seriously BEST QUOTE EVER!!!! And that was only on page 5!! So you can just imagine how hilarious the rest of...
