Laugh It Up!: Embrace Freedom and Experience Defiant Joy by Candace Payne (Audiobook)

Image
Hey Everyone! So who remembers this video? A bunch of you right? Or maybe not, I don't know.  I remember my mom sharing it on Facebook, and then it just showing up everywhere!  Funny thing, I never got around to seeing it, up until about a week ago. I was rather surprised to receive Laugh It Up! Embrace Freedom and Experience Defiant Joy, the audiobook, by Candace Payne (Chewbacca Mom herself!) for Christmas from my mom.  Apparently, Candace Payne is some sort of inspirational speaker now.  She inspires people to believe in joy and just enjoy themselves. Joy. That word... I have never heard that word used so much before.  No joke, the word "joy" must have been used EASILY a hundred times in this book. From Goodreads: The world knows Candace Payne as "Chewbacca Mom", the wife and mother of two from Dallas who captured the hearts of nearly 200 million people around the world with nothing but a toy Chewbacca mask, a smart phone, and infectio...

Things I Can't Forget by Miranda Kenneally

So Barnes and Noble is shipping out copies of Miranda Kenneally's new book again!!! :)  Yay, and I got my copy of Things I Can't Forget last week, and just knew I had to devour it asap! :) It's not supposed to be released until March 1st! :) From Goodreads :   Companion to Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker. Kate has always been the good girl. Too good, according to some people at school—although they have no idea the guilty secret she carries. But this summer, everything is different… This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt…with her. Kate used to think the world was black and white, right and wrong. Turns out, life isn’t that easy… Read an excerpt here. Note: Mature themes, sexual situations, religious ...

Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally

Image
I have been DYING to read Miranda Kenneally's newest book since Catching Jordan since reading, said, Catching Jordan back in January!  I absolutely LOVED CJ!  It was just one of the best contemporaries I've read in a long time!! So when I pre-ordered Stealing Parker last week, and saw the next day it had already shipped, when it isn't supposed to be released until October 1st, I was stoked on life! And then that stokeness factor just went up even more when I received said-book-I've-Been-waiting-for-for-months I ripped open that Barnes and Noble package and devoured that book in about a day-and-a-half! If it would have been up to me, I would finished it in less than that time, but I have other things to do sometimes, unfortunately.  Stealing Parker is Miranda's second book, and it's actually a companion to Catching Jordan .  What is a companion? Well, it's not exactly a sequel, but it does include some of the main characters from Catc...

Starring Me by Krista McGee

Image
I was given an ARC of Starring Me by Krista McGee via Netgalley a couple of months ago.  I read Krista's first novel First Date ( Review Here! ) back in January, and thought it was a very cute story.  So when I saw Krista's second novel Starring Me on Netgalley I didn't hesitate to request it right away! Then when I was contacted by the publisher this past week, to possibly take into consideration of reviewing this book, I couldn't resist!  So as soon as I finished my last book, I picked up my beautiful lovely Kindle, and started reading. Starring Me was released on July 10th, and is the story of Kara.  Kara was Addy's roommate in First Date , and while both Addy and Kara didn't win the date with the President's son, Addy did win the President's son's heart, and Kara has just been given the chance of a life time! The chance to be the star of a new Comedy teen Variety show! In competition with nine other girls, Kara is forced to endure one v...

First Date by Krista McGee Review

Image
First Date by Krista McGee is a fairly new release, December 2011. First Date is the story of Addy, and her journey to truly accepting God into her life, and not being ashamed of it.  Addy is a 17 year old teenage girl, who attends a small private Christian school, and is chosen to go on a show where she will be competing against 30 girls to see who will get to go on a date with the President's son (which is very similar to The Bachelor ). Addy has had a tough life, her parents were tragically killed while on a Missionary mission, and has lived with her Uncle since the age of 6.  God is the most important person in her life.  And when she is chosen to be on the show, all she can think is, Why Me??   She absolutely does not want to be a part of this show, in fact, she just wants to continue living her quiet, boring life, so she can continue working towards her chances of getting into a Ivy League college. But when Addy meets the President's son, everything change...
