Meg-A Readers 2015 Week 5! Final Week!

Image
Hey Everyone!!! I can't believe Meg-A Readers is already over!!! I'm so sad, with how little I was able to do this year! I have this whole plan of reading all the Meg Cabot books I haven't read yet (which pretty much is just the Allie Finkle series and Meg's Historical Romances), but of course life took over! So instead today, on this last day of the 2015 Meg-A Readers I am going to celebrate that it has been TEN YEARS since I picked and read my first Meg Cabot book!  The sad part is that I wouldn't even be able to tell you which book by Meg Cabot was the first I read!  I think it may have either been All-American Girl  or the first Princess Diaries .  I think it was PD though, because I remember going to library at my high school, freshman year, needing a book to read so I could accumulate 1,000 pages in independent reading for my English class.  I saw the first PD book on the shelf, and thought, "Oooh I loved that movie! Why not?!" And that was...

Meg-A Readers Recap Week 4! WITH GIVEAWAY!!! (US Shipping Only!)

Image
Hey Everyone! So unfortunately this year Meg-A Readers is not going at all like I had hoped.  I'm so sorry, I feel like such a flake, but this is a really tough time right now.  You see, I am transferring in the fall to University.  It's taken SIX years of Community college, because I work two jobs, and to be honest due to personal reasons it's taken me a bit longer than most.  Anyway, I've finally made it one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher!  I got my Associated of Science this semester in Liberal Arts, and was supposed to transfer to a University in my area.  However, I've been having some serious anxiety problems when it comes to commuting yet again for another THREE and a HALF years (that is my bachelors and teaching credentials), because I will end up having to give up my school job...the one job I actually need to keep my foot in the door.  But here's the problem...I can't commute three to four times a...

It was so amazing to be back in Mia's world, honestly like I was catching up with a good friend, I had lost contact with over the past six years!  So much fun!! I can't believe how much has happened!!!! From Goodreads : From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Princess Diaries series, comes the very first adult installment, which follows Princess Mia and her Prince Charming as they plan their fairy tale wedding--but a few poisoned apples could turn this happily-ever-after into a royal nightmare. For Princess Mia, the past five years since college graduation have been a ...

Meg-A Readers 2015 Recap Week 2!

Image
Hey Everyone!! Week 2 of Meg-A Readers 2015 is already all done!! So finals are over, but I got sick of course, because isn't that just the dandy part of life?! But anyway, I know I suck, but I haven't had the brain or energy to read in the last few days.  Now that doesn't mean I HAVEN'T read, it just means I haven't finished reading the book, I had set myself to finish this week!  But I should be done soon with it, and as soon as I do, my review will be up! :) But for now I have other Meg-A Readers 2015 posts to share with you, a small announcement, and a GIVEAWAY for this week's recap!!! :) First, to my announcement! I have decided that for this year's Meg-A Readers I will be focusing on Meg Cabot's historical romances!  I was able to pick up three of them from Amazon for super cheap, and I've been trying to get my hands on those babies for years!!  I'm reading Nicola and the Viscount  right now, which I've had sitting on my...

From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess by Meg Cabot (ARC Review)

Image
Hey Everyone! Yay, my first official Meg-A Readers 2015 post (besides the kick-off!)!!!!! :) So I can't believe it happened, but I received an ARC of Meg Cabot's newest series, From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess  back in February thanks to Meg and Harper Collins!!! No seriously...THANK YOU MEG!!! AND HARPER COLLINS!!! You have no idea what an honor it was to have received any ARC from Meg Cabot!!! My absolute favorite author of all time!!!!!!!!! It was completely surreal when this book slid out of that envelope!! Anyway, I've got a review for you!!! :) From Goodreads : In FROM THE NOTEBOOKS OF A MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCESS a new middle grade series, readers will see Genovia, this time through the illustrated diaries of a spunky new heroin, 12 year old Olivia Grace, who happens to be the long lost half-sister of Princess Mia Thermopolis.  My Thoughts: Oh goodness how cute!! No joke!  I am 23 years old and thought this was absolutely ado...

Meg-A Readers Week!! Day 7: Goodbye to Meg-A Readers 2014!

Image
Hello Everyone!!! It's already that time...time to say goodbye for Meg-A Readers for this year. 2014 Meg-A Readers has come and gone, and it's been, once again, an absolute blast! This is the third year Diana, over at  Little Miss Drama Queen , and I have been doing Meg-A Readers.  We've had so many amazing memories so far through this experience, such as receiving our first boxes in the mail by Meg Cabot, containing a bunch of signed books, getting our first interview with Meg Cabot, reading and rereading a bunch of our favorites by Meg! It's just been an amazing experience these past three years! Year four, as some of you already know, Diana and I are planning a SUPER exciting year!!!!  Meg is releasing THREE new books!!!!!!!! THREE!!!!!  And two of them are continuations of two of her series, that we haven't heard of in a while, including my absolute favorite series by Meg... The Princess Diaries !! Anyway, this year in honor of that exciting annou...

Meg-A Readers Week!! Day 7: Forever Princess (#10 in The Princess Diaries Series) by Meg Cabot

Image
Hey Everyone! It's the last day of Meg-A Readers 2014 already! ;( This is going to be my last review for Meg-A Readers this year, and it's of the last book in The Princess Diaries Series , Forever Princess ! From Goodreads: What's a Princess to do? It's Mia's senior year, and things seem great. She aced her senior project, got accepted to her dream college(s), and has her birthday gala coming up . . . not to mention prom, graduation, and Genovia's first-ever elections. What's not to love about her life? Well . . .Her senior project? It's a romance novel she secretly wrote, and no one wants to publish it.Prince Phillipe's campaign in the Genovian elections isn't going well, thanks to her totally loathsome cousin Rene, who decided to run against him.Her boyfriend, J.P., is so sweet and seemingly perfect. But is he the one? And her first love, Michael, is back from Japan . . . and back in her life. With Genovia's and her own futur...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 6: Princess Mia (#9 in The Princess Diaries Series) by Meg Cabot (GIVEAWAY!)

Image
Hey Everyone! I can't believe Meg-A Readers 2014 is already almost over!! ;( But it's been a fun week, as Meg-A Readers tends to be! :) For Part 2 of Day 6 of Meg-A Readers 2014, I've got my review for Meg's 9th book in The Princess Diaries Series , Princess Mia ! From Goodreads : A princess on her own . . . Mia has been invited to speak at a gala for Domina Rei, an elite society of powerful businesswomen. But what could she possibly have to say? Now that Michael has broken things off, Mia can barely get out of bed, and her parents are making her see a "therapist." School, where Lilly still refuses to speak to her and Lana suddenly wants to be bff, is a total nightmare. Even J.P.'s efforts to cheer Mia up (he's being really sweet ) aren't helping. What's a royal to do? Just when things couldn't get worse, Mia uncovers an old family secret, a long-forgotten diary of a teenage princess of Genovia. It could be just the thing...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 6: Princess on the Brink (#8 in The Princess Diaries Series) by Meg Cabot (PLUS GIVEAWAY!)

Image
***WARNING!!! THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!!*** Hey Everyone! Welcome to Day 6 Part 1 of Meg-A Readers 2014! Today I've got my review for Meg Cabot's 8th book in The Princess Diaries  series, Princess on the Brink . From Goodreads : At last, Mia is a junior. An upperclassperson. Free of her responsibilities as student body president. So why is it that everything is going so terribly wrong? What is she doing in Intro to Creative Writing? When she has made it through Algebra and Geometry, why must she be faced with Precalculus? And for the love of all that is Genovian, why has Lilly nominated her for school prez again? All this is nothing compared to the news Michael springs on her, however. On top of all the mathematical strife, her beloved boyfriend is leaving for Japan for a year. Precalc has nothing on preparing for the worst separation ever Turns out there is one way she might convince Michael to stay. But will she? Or won't she? No matter what,...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 5: Sweet Sixteen Princess (The Princess Diaries #7.5) (GIVEAWAY!)

Image
Hey! Day 5 Part 2 of Meg-A Readers Week!! Princess Diaries Edition! :) For Part 2 of today, I've got a review of Sweet Sixteen Princess  (#7.5 in The Princess Diaries Series )! From Goodreads : Sixteen is the magic number Mia doesn't always have the best luck with parties, so even though it's her sweet sixteenth, she doesn't want a birthday bash. As usual, Grandmere has other ideas, and thinks a reality TV special is just the thing in order to celebrate royally. The whole scheme smacks of Lilly's doing -- Lilly, whose own TV show is still only limited to local cable viewers. Will Mia be able to stop Grandmere's plan? Will her friends ever forgive her if she does stop it, since it involves all of them taking the royal jet to Genovia for an extravaganza the likes of which would turn even Paris Hilton green with envy? Why can't Mia get what she really wants: an evening alone with Michael? With a little luck, this sweet sixteen prince...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 5: Party Princess (The Princess Diaries #7) by Meg Cabot (Giveaway!)

Image
Hey Everyone!! It's Day 5 of Meg-A Readers 2014!! And for my first review today I've got Party Princess  (#7 in The Princess Diaries Series )! From  Goodreads : Princess just want to have fun . . . And Mia does too, despite the fact that the student government over which she presides is suddenly broke. But Grandmere's got a wacky scheme to raise the money, catapult Mia to theatrical fame, and link her romantically with an eligible teen bachelor who's not her boyfriend. No wonder Michael seems to think she's a psycho, or worse: not much fun. Is it possible that Mia, soon-to-be star of the stage, president of the student body, and future ruler of Genovia, doesn't know how to party? My Thoughts: This is the one where Mia completely humiliates herself in front of not only her brother's fellow college classmates, but also in front of her friends.  It's pretty funny, yet at the same time I cringe every single time I read that part. In...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 4: The Princess Present (#6.5 in The Princess Diaries Series) by Meg Cabot (Novella Review) (Giveaway!)

Image
Hey Everyone! :) Happy Meg-A Readers Day!! From Goodreads : Mia would give all the jewels in Genovia for the perfect present Every year, Princess Mia spends the holidays in Genovia with Grandmère. This year, she's looking forward to the most perfect Christmas ever: her boyfriend, Michael, and her best friend, Lilly, are coming to Genovia, too. But even a princess's plans can go awry. Lilly has a lot to learn about palace protocol, and with all the state holiday functions Mia must attend, there's no time to linger under the mistletoe with Michael. Worst of all, Mia hasn't been able to find him the perfect gift. Can Mia stop her (bah-hum)bugging long enough to see that the perfect present has nothing to do with international express courier -- and everything to do with real love? (Though some shiny silver ribbon never hurts ...) My Thoughts: I love that Meg made these little novella's inbetween!  They are so adorable, and fun to read, especially ...

Meg-A Readers Week!! IT'S MEG CABOT DAY!!!! Day 4: Princess in Training (Princess Diaries #6) by Meg Cabot (Giveaway!)

Image
Meg-A Readers Week!! Day 4!!! Before I get to my first review of the day, I just want to say... HAPPY MEG CABOT DAY!!!!!!!! Yes, today is seriously Meg Cabot Day!!!! The mayor of Bloomington, Indiana (the hometown of Meg!) pronounced July 31st, Meg Cabot Day!!   Today's first review is of Meg's 6th book in the Princess Diaries Series, Princess in Training ! From Goodreads : Princess for president! Student body president, that is -- nominated by her power-mad best friend, Lilly. This is not how Mia imagined kicking off her sophomore year, but as usual, she has bigger problems to worry about, like Geometry. And now that Mia's one true love, Michael, is uptown at college, what's the point of even getting up for school in the morning? But the last straw is what Lana whispers to her on the lunch line about what college boys expect of their girlfriends. . . . Really, it's almost more than a princess in training can bear! My Thoughts: As most of yo...

Meg-A Readers Week! Day 3: Princess in Pink (Princess Diaries #5) by Meg Cabot (Giveaway!)

Image
Day 3 Part of Meg-A Readers Week!! :) Princess In Pink, #5 in The Princess Diaries Series!! :) From Goodreads : Princess Mia is dreaming about the prom - and contending with a hotel workers' strike - in the fifth, supremely hilarious episode of Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries. This time, Mia's in the pink about the upcoming Albert Einstein H.S. prom, and she's crossing her fingers that Michael will ask her to go. (They're in love, so why wouldn't he ask her, right?) But during Seven Minutes in Heaven at her b-day party, Mia learns that Michael is not the prom-going type. Good grief, what's a princess to do?   To make matters worse, Grandmere has gotten a busboy fired due to a mishap with her pooch, Rommel, at a swanky restaurant, so when all of the city's busboys go on strike, it causes a chain of events that result in Grandmere crashing at Mia's mom's place, her pal Lilly Moscovitz picking up a picket sign, and the prom being brought ...
