2015 Wrap-Up!

Image
Message from Mandy @The Romance Bookie So it's that time again!! 2015 is officially almost over! I just can't believe it! It seems like just last month we were celebrating the beginning of 2015! It's time to wrap-up this year, and to begin 2015! Before I go into how I failed all of my reading goals this year, I would like to share some of the life events that happened to me in 2015... -I went to my first early screening of a movie back in January, for The DUFF , and met some of the cast members. -At the beginning of February I went on my second trip to Florida with the most amazing man in my life, my boyfriend, Vincent.  We spent a little over a week at Disney World (one of our favorite places), and for a second time to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, where we went to both Diagon Alley and Hogsmead.  Drank tons of Butterbeer, Pumpkin juice, pear cider, ate at the Leaky Cauldron, and did the new Gringott's Bank Ride!  It was incredible! ...

Hey Everyone!! I did something really awesome last weekend!!! I got to go the Pasadena Loves YA Teen Book Festival! :) It was so much fun!! So many books, free and bought!! And I got to meet so many authors including one of my absolute favorite authors, Kody Keplinger!!!! :) It started with a bang already! We walked into the Pasadena Public Library and right there in the main hall was none other than KODY KEPLINGER herself!!! I walked up to her and two other guests, who I soon found out were Alexis Bass (author of  Love and Other Theories ) and Virginia Boecker (author of the upcoming  The Witch Hunter )! I told her who she was, and she was so nice and right away was like, "Mandy!!!  It's so great to finally meet you!" It was so cool!! After saying our goodbyes for now, we started exploring the library.  It was truly beautiful!  Four stories of lovely lovely books! In the auditorium, they had carts and carts of books, which early guests were g...

Alright, so time for Part 2 of my awesome weekend at The LA Times Festival of Books this year!! Sunday I went with my brother, and really he only came with me for one reason... Jeff Kinney.  If you have elementary aged children, especially boys, then you will know who this is... The author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid . It took another hour and a half drive, but we made it to USC around 10ish.  The Jeff Kinney talk/signing didn't start until 10:50 am, but the line for the signing was already insane; so I knew we had to get in ASAP, so we wouldn't be cut off! My brother was in line for THREE AND A HALF HOURS!!!  I ended up having to go on my own to a couple signings, otherwise the whole would have been a bust for me. I, unfortunately, ended up missing the opportunity to meet Jeff, because I had to rush to the Gayle Forman signing, but my brother was stoked on life, because he got to meet the creator of one his heroes. And he snagged me a signed copy of the first one...
