The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 (Movie Review)

Image
Hey Everyone!! I know I know, the last couple of months, barely anything in posting, and now for three days in a row, there have been posts?!! Well, I actually have an entire week off from one of my jobs, and am A TINY bit ahead with my homework, because that is how I do ;), so I've actually had a little bit of extra time!  Plus, I think I am getting my groove back when it comes to reading :). Anyway, my mom and I went to see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1  this afternoon!! From  IMBD I reviewed Mockingjay  back in 2011, and didn't really know what to think of the end of the series.  To this day, I'm actually really curious as to know what was going through Suzanne Collin's head as she was finishing up the series. One thing I was certain of though, before seeing the movie was how could they split a 300-something page book, where not much really happens in the first half, into TWO movies??? I mean, I get it! MONEY, MONEY! That's life, un...

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Movie Review

Image
Hey Everyone! So I saw Catching Fire on Saturday!! From  IMDB And let me just start by saying it was amazing! Description and image above from  IMDB : Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. My Thoughts: I read Catching Fire   early late 2011, and honestly thought of it as my favorite book in the Hunger Games Trilogy!  I thought it had the best story line, the best adventure, and the most going on. The movie was no exception!  Jennifer Lawrence did an amazing job, once again, as Katniss Everdeen! I loved the new editions to the cast! One of my favorites was hands down Jena Malone as Johanna. She had some of the best rebellious quotes toward the Capitol!  I don't if it was me, but I don't really remember the tributes of the Quarter Quell rebelling against the Capitol; but Johanna definitely didn't hold back! Loved that! I ...

Still on My Mind #8

Image
Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. This week's Still on My Mind is... I know this is a sequel, but to be honest this book is the reason why I really liked Suzanne Collin's novels The Hunger Games .  This book had so much action, was interesting from beginning until end, and kept me on my toes through out.  I liked the first and third in the series, but they got to be a bit much for me sometimes.  This is a tough series, psychologically, speaking in my opinion.  I've discussed it recent posts ( Like THIS one! ). Since everyone around the world, pretty much, knows about what happens in at least the first book in the series, I don't think this Goodreads description will be too much of a giveaway of what happened in the first book: Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Ga...
