Passion & Prose February 25th, 2012- A day of Romance and dreams come true!

So here I am again, to tell you ALL about yesterday! Bare with me, this will be LONG post!! Mostly pictures though!! Let's see how I'm going to do this...I think I'll make sections for each author :). And I will save the best for last :). So let me begin by saying that yesterday was absolutely PERFECT!! I'm serious! It was hands-down the best day of my life so far!  Worth every penny, every mile driven, and every sleepless night, of wondering what was going to happen. Other than going to a Hilary Duff signing, in November 2010, this was my only other author event I've been to.  And what better event to go to then to an event that has over FORTY authors! Among them...oh maybe you've heard of a little someone called MEG CABOT!!! Yeah! She is only like my hero!!  With over 75 books under her belt (I just figured out I've read at least 50 of them!!), she's written for every age group at one point or another, and tackled (and succeeded) in MANY diffe...

Today!!

Hello everyone!! So I am EXTREMELY tired!! I woke up this morning at 5:30, drove 2 hours to Long Beach, and then got home about an hour ago.  But guess what?? IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!!! Hands down the BEST day of my life!! You might be asking, what did I do today? Well, if you didn't read my post earlier this week, I went to Long Beach to the first annual Passion and Prose event, and got to meet ONLY my IDOL!!!! MEG CABOT!!!! Oh and Marissa Meyer! OH and Beth Revis! OH and the entire Breathless Tour writers panel (Andrea Cremer, Marie Lu, Jessica Spotswood, and Sara Wilson Etienne)!!! It was EVERYTHING and more of what I imagined it to be!! Over 40 authors in one place, all of them such absolutely nice people!! And you want to know the best part???  Well...I'll tell you all tomorrow, when I post the pictures.  I got some AMAZING goodies!!! Some of them I want to share with you!!! :) So I tell you all about it tomorrow! Have a great night everyone! XOX...

Cyborgs? COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!!!

Image
Okay, so I am going to honest here...when I heard of the word Cyborg, I was thinking of a mix between a robot and a zombie.  Why?? I don't know, to be honest, I haven't seen that many movies about Cyborgs...but here's the definition... Cyborg: noun, a person whose physiological functioning is aided or dependent upon a mechanical or electronic devise.   That would suck. Right?? Well, Cinder definitely thinks it sucks. But she's learned to live with it.  She was turned into a Cyborg after getting into a terrible "car accident" when she was eleven.  She doesn't remember anything from before, only what she's heard.  She lives with her stepmother (or more like semi-adoptive mother, since Cinder more like BELONGS (as in, is a possession) to her stepmother, and two "sisters".   The plague is going around and one of her sister's (her favorite one) has caught it.  She's taken away and isolated away from everyone.  And Cinder's stepmoth...

Tagged!!

Ooh this looks like a lot of fun!! I have been tagged by That Teenage Feeling .  Here are: The Rules You must post the rules.  Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.  Tag eleven people and link to them on your post.  Let them know you've tagged them!    Here are the questions from That Teenage Feeling: 1. Fill in the blank. When I'm not reading I'm: doing homework or hanging out with elementary school kids. 2. When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?  Ooohh, SOOOOO many things! At one point a pop star like Hilary Duff (haha, I was a HUGE Lizzie McGuire Fan), I wanted to be Hilary Duff's best friend haha, and a teacher (which is what I still want to be!) 3. What's the best non-YA book you've read recently?  Hmmm...that's a tie between Water for Elephants and The Help 4. What was your favourite book as a child and why?  Hm...

Music Tuesday (#7)

Image
Hello everyone! So the other day I read a blog entry from someone, unfortunately I can not remember whose, otherwise I would totally post the link, but anyway, they featured a couple of their favorite songs from the 60s.  Now let me begin by saying I LOVE old music!! I am talking jazz from the 20s, stuff from Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra...I LOVE all of that stuff! Thanks to my grandma I was introduced to a lot of these sounds.  Besides my grandma, I am the only person in my family that actually enjoys this music. Anyway, so in the last couple of days I've been listening to one of my all time favorites.  It's a fun little tune, with a great sound (I love that old recording sound from back in the day...you know the one I'm talking about right??). So here it is: Lipstick on my Collar by Connie Francis The Romance Bookie :)

Across the Universe Review

Do you want to know something I have always disliked?? When someone goes to a book signing from an author and hasn't read their book(s). I SWEAR(!!!), when I went to the Hilary Duff signing for her first novel Elixir in November 2010, I was the ONLY person there that had actually read it!! WTH is that???  Who does that?? I know people do not always have time, but seriously?? If you have time to go to a book signing, then you should have time to read the book! That's just my opinion on it. So, anyway, next Saturday to a certain point I am going to be one of those people I dislike.  There are going to be about FIFTY authors at the Passion and Prose Conference!! Fifty authors!! Most of whom are still starting out, so I have not really heard of there books. I mean, I read A LOT!! Not as much as some people, who read like a book a day, but I do read usually about a book a week.  BUT, that also means I do not get the opportunity to read every book that comes my way....

I NEED YOUR QUESTIONS!!!! :)

Okay so I found out some REALLY exciting news the last week!  I have been waiting to share it because I was not 100% sure if it was still going to happen, but it is official:  I'M GOING TO MEET MEG CABOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I am excited??!! LOL So I found out a couple of months ago that Meg was going to be in Long Beach, California in February.  I am, as some of you may know, a HUGE HUGE HUGE Meg Cabot fan!!  So when I heard this I jumped with glee!  Meg has never been this close to where I live!  The closest was last year, when she came to San Francisco (which is waaaayyyyy on the upper side of California from where I live (about a 6 hour drive!!), for the This Is Teen Event featuring Meg and Libba Bray. I was a little bummed (okaayyyy....a LOTTTT) that I was not able to go to that event last year.  However, now my time has come!!! I am MEETING MEG CABOT NEXT SATURDAY!!!!! She will be at  Passion and Prose Conference...
