Ten Girls to Watch by Charity Shumway

Image
Ten Girls to Watch by Charity Shumway will be hitting shelves tomorrow, through Atria Publications, a branch from Simon Schuster.  I was lucky enough to get a finished copy last week in the mail from Simon and Schuster, so I was jumping up and down with excitement!! :) Dawn West is a rut.  She moved to New York hoping to become a big shot published writer, and living in a great apartment, but instead is writing for a Lawn Care company, giving advice to people on a subject she doesn't even know about, and has to borrow tons of library books to answer; plus she's living in a run down apartment in Brooklyn, with a roommate who has decided to stop paying her rent, because her plans changed after she quit her job and was supposed to move to Toledo to be with her, now, ex-boyfriend! While all this is going on, she's also got an ex-boyfriend that somehow continues to pop up in her life...okay, so partially that one's Dawn's own fault.  When her ex and his new girlfrien...

Swim (a short story) by Jennifer Weiner

Image
I have heard so many fabulous things about Jennifer Weiner! Her name seems to be everywhere! She wrote the novel In Her Shoes which inspired the movie with the same name featuring Cameron Diaz (I will admit, I wasn't a big fan of the movie). However, a few weeks ago I was scrolling through the free books on Amazon, and I came across Jennifer Weiner's new short story Swim ! I had a late night yesterday, a childhood friend of mine got married, and we were all celebrating (I had my first Mojito!! And it was pretty good!), so this morning as I was waking up, I really wanted something easy and short to read...and that's when I thought of Swim ! I was contacted by someone from Simon & Schuster's Atria Publications, because of a review of mine, and they offered to send a copy of Jennifer Weiner's newest novel The Next Best Thing .  I was super excited, because I've always wanted to read something by Jennifer! Swim is actually a prequel short story ...

Twisted by Sara Shepard (Pretty Little Liars #9,000)

Image
So it's been almost two years since I last read a Pretty Little Liars book.  I've had Twisted sitting on my bookshelf since its release last July!  This series was supposed to be over with Number 8!!! BUT NO!!! Sara Shepard decided to write ANOTHER 4!!! This December, FINALLY, the 12th and final Pretty Little Liars is being released (at least, I'm really hoping it's the last! In fact I've been hoping for the last book for the past 7 flipping years!!! Sara Shepard if I could just say one thing to you...YOU ARE KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, so let's begin... So for those of you who haven't read the series, or seen the TV show (which btw, is WAY different than the books!!, but sort of gives you the overall idea of the series) then I'd recommend you not reading this description and review, because might be SPOILERS!!! That is a warning!!! So anyway, before I give away way too much about what happened in this book here's G...

Still on My Mind #11

Image
Still on My Mind is a weekly meme, featured on Thursday, started by Haley over at Ya-Aholic , where you discuss a book you've either recently read, or read over the past few years, that's still on your mind. For this weeks Still On My Mind, I will probably be doing one of the biggest cliches in Young Adult literature. But you know, honestly, despite what some people think of this series, I still absolutely adore this series! So for this week's Still On My Mind I've chosen... Yes, yes, I know!! But I'm sorry, even after four years I still can't get my mind off of this series! So instead of telling all of you what this book is about...which, you know, everyone should probably know by now, unless you've been living under a rock for the past four years...I'll tell you exactly why this series is still on my mind after all...

Music Tuesday #30

Image
Wow, can you all believe that this is Week 30 in 2012?!! Once again another year flying by! For this week's Music Tuesday is a song that I've been listening to for the past week thanks to a recommendation given to me by a friend.  This song is really pretty I think, and the singer has the gorgeous British accent in her lyrics, that reminds me of Adele and a hint of Regina Spektor.  I just love it! So enjoy this weeks song!!.... Nicest Things by Kate Nash Happy Tuesday Everyone!! :) The Romance Bookie :)
