Twilight Week Day 3 (New Moon)

It's already Day 3 in Twilight Week! Which means only 2 MORE DAYS until The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2!!!

So for today's post it's time for New Moon!!!

Goodreads Description:
New Moon (Twilight, #2)

For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning....

Legions of readers entranced by New York Times bestseller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural spin. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

My Thoughts:
So as I've mentioned many times here on The Romance Bookie, I LOVE this series so much! So without further ado, here are a list of my favorite quotes from this novel:

  • "'My super secret recipe for spaghetti.  Handed down for generations,' Billy said gravely.
"Jacob snorted. 'I don't think Ragu's actually been around that long.'" (pg. 149) (Billy and Jacob)

Why?: Well, because I love a good laugh! :)

  • "'What a marshmallow. You should hold out for someone with a stronger stomach.  Someone who laughs at the gore that makes weaker men vomit.'" (pg. 211) (Jacob to Bella)

Why?: Because I have always wanted to call someone a "Marshmallow" ever since reading this, and just have not had the chance to!

  • "...love gave someone the power to break you." (pg. 219)
Why?: I just love how true this is! Love can be the best feeling in the world, but in the end it can break you to pieces!

  • "'I can't believe how quick it was. I didn't feel a thing -- they're very good,' he mused, closing his eyes again and pressing his lips against my hair." (pg. 452) (Edward to Bella, thinking he was dead)

Why?:  I just find this part so cute, devastating, and amusing at the same time.

  • "'So maybe this is hell. I don't care. I'll take it.'" (pg. 452) (Edward to Bella, still thinking they are both dead now)
Why?: I just seriously loved this part! I honestly wish they could have put this more into the movie!
  • "'Dibs,' Felix called casually from behind." (pg. 465) (Felix about Bella)
Why?: I just thought that line was pretty funny!
  • "'You can leave me,' I explained.  'The Volturi, Victoria...they're nothing compared to that.'" (pg. 524) (Bella to Edward)
Why?: Another devastatingly beautiful line!

All right, those were all the quotes I got down from rereading New Moon!  I'm sure there are more, but these are some great ones!

On a side note:  Marcus (from the Volturi) in the book has the gift of seeing relationships.  That is pretty awesome!! What happened to that in the movie??!!

So that's it from Day 3! Tomorrow is Eclipse!! :)

Comments

  1. I like all the Twilight books but New Moon was the worst film adaptation, IMO :( and the trailer looked epic so I was kind of disappointed.

    1. I agree with you on that! It's funny though, because in an interview I saw Stephenie Meyer said she liked working with that director the best. She said Chris Weitz understood her vision the best and took in her opinions often.

    2. The trailer was just SO GOOD, especially the song at the end. I really need to rewatch it before judging I guess, though - lol. It's been a while. I plan on rewatching BD part 1 this weekend :) I own that on DVD and as well as the first, and #3 on Blu-ray. Part of the reason I bought a Blu-ray player - I won a copy and needed to watch it! lol.

    3. LOL nice! I own them ALL, and on Special Edition 2-3 disc dvds. Every time one of the movies comes out, I check out which store offers the most dvds with the most extras. Lol I'm a total twi-hard nerd! (writing this, as I'm sitting here in my twilight shirt, waiting to go to see Breaking Dawn part 2) lol
