IMM #24/Stacking the Shelves #4

Hey Everyone!!
So once again behind on, this time on my IMM post!

I got some awesome things over this past month!!

Including this:





A HUGE THANK YOU TO HARPER COLLINS for sending me this!!! I'm reading it right now!! :)

And then I got another amazing surprise!!!

So back in July of 2012 I participated in a video chat with Kody Keplinger, and I won a SIGNED finished copy of Kody's book A Midsummer's Nightmare!! Well, because of being extremely busy, and then the mishap of having the post office lose the first package, Kody sent me this awesome HUGE package!!!







and a bunch of other goodies, including this awesome blow horn thing that I know my family is going to truly enjoy for all our family soccer games we gather to watch during the World Cup next year!! :)

    I STILL want to read Shut Out by her! If your copy wasn't signed I would ask if you wanted to do a book swap again :) though I STILL haven't read the ones you sent me from last summer yet, lol! (they're in my pile)

    I got contacted by S&S to review Real, too, but haven't received it yet.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

I saw the movie Hugo (directed by Martin Scorsese) right before the New Year.  Let me back track, and let you know that usually I am NOT a fan of Oscar movies.  If I'm being honest, I find them to be boring.  However, this year has seemed to bring quite a few more exceptions than normal.  Among those are: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 , The Help , and Hugo.   I fell in love with Hugo .  I thought it so beautifully done.  The music, the characters, the story.  I found myself crying even at points that wouldn't necessarily make you cry.  I honestly, didn't know the movie was based on a book; but when I found out at the end, I knew I had to read it. The winner of the Children's Caldecott Award, The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick is nothing like anything I've ever read.  Normally, when I read I imagine the story that I am reading  unfolding in my head like a movie; but with The Invention of Hugo Cabret I didn't have to imagine.  T
