But I've got a couple of extra bookmarks, and little nick-knacks, from authors (among those things...another signed KC Neal BOOKMARK!!!)
So I really hope you all continue to read The Romance Bookie :).  And remember I LOVE COMMENTS!!! I started this blog to connect with other readers! :)

So now to my review for One for the Money by Janet Evanovich:

As some of you may know, there is movie starring Katherine Heigl that was released in theaters on January 27th, based on this novel:
Well, as with any romantic-comedy (or in this case, mostly just comedy, but I definitely see some future romance...;)), starring Katherine Heigl, I REALLY want to see this movie!! When I found out it was based on a book, I knew I had to read it before.
I'd vaguely, a few years back heard about Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series, but to be honest I'd never given them much thought.  The covers always looked a little dull, which I know...I shouldn't be judging a book by its cover!! :P, but I admit it...sometimes I just do...

Anyway, let me just say this...I AM SO GLAD I READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!! I don't remember laughing this much during one book, to the point where my stomach hurt!! There are SOOOOO many one liners in this book, that I started marking the pages, to remember which quotes were so funny!! AND I've never done that before!! (write down the quotes, I mean).

Here are my favorites:
(***WARNING: Contains Profanity!!!!***)
""I'm telling you, it's fucking hard to be classy," she said." (I honestly don't know why, but I almost peed my pants when I read this quote haha)

"I wasn't sure exactly how prostitutes determined price, but if men bought hookers by the pound, these two would be doing okay." (and the award for best, to the point, character description goes tooooooo...JANET EVANOVICH!!!)

And then this last one:
"I must admit, it would be a comfort not to have to wait alone although, aside from Bill Murray, what good would another mortal be in the face of a spook attack, anyway?"
(okay, so this one, if I'm not mistaken, did Janet Evanovich just insinuate that Bill Murray is HOT?????? EWWWWW....I mean, I know this book came out originally in 1994, which meant at the time I was a mere 3 years old, but honestly??? When was Bill Murray EVER considered HOT??? Even in Ghostbusters he was hardly considered attractive!! RIGHT???  I just chose this quote, because I thought it was hilarious!! :))

I have to say, everything about this book I loved.  Janet Evanovich has a great writing style that kept me wanting more each time, I had to put down the book.  Her character, Stephanie Plum, is absolutely fabulous!  I love that she is a Jersey girl, saying whatever comes to mind.  It was awesome!! (See quote two for an example!).

One for the Money is the first of the (so far) 18 books in the series.  Stephanie Plum has been laid off at her job, being a lingerie sales lady.  She's sold most of her furniture to pay for her rent and car, and is in deep with the credit card debt collectors.  She needs money fast!! So what does she do?? Well, what else is there to do?? A Bounty-Hunter of course!! DUH!!!
Stephanie is after Joe Morelli, an escaped cop (well, I guess now an EX-cop) who is being charged with unnecessary murder.  The reward...$10,000.  However, Stephanie is hiding something...she sort of has a history with Morelli...way back to the time she was 6!  But wanting to get revenge, she goes out for him, and wants to get him good!
However, when things get a little bit more complicated then she expected, Stephanie will have to decide...Is Bounty-Hunting really the right job for her, even if it means $10,000??

To find out, you are just going to have go and read One for the Money ! :)

I truly enjoyed every minute of this book! And I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the movie and reading more about Stephanie Plum in the future!! :)

Overall rating:

Have a great weekend everyone! And coming tomorrow...In My Mailbox #2!!!! I'm really excited for this one, I got something pretty awesome today!!!
