IMM #12

In My Mailbox was originally started by The Story Siren and it's where anyone can participate and let everyone know what they got in books, and other book related things, throughout a given time.  Anyone with a blog can join in, and you can post once a week, once a month, or whenever you choose to.

Remember everyone, this is a MONTHLY IMM, not weekly!!

Hey Everyone!!

I got some awesome book this month!!

First off, before I begin, I would just like to apologize that a review hasn't been posted in a while.  I've been rereading a certain series, where a certain (final ;() film is coming out next Friday, and I want to do a conjoined review of all four books right before the movie is officially released! :)  So reviews will start coming again!

So first off for my IMM...

Book I Bought:

Goodwill Haul:
Bought (from Amazon):

  •  Shiver Trilogy Boxset by Maggie Stiefvater (SUPER excited about this gorgeous box set!! The teacher I volunteer for, bought me last month the first book in this series, and when she saw this boxset she just bought the whole thing for me! :)  I ended up giving her the other copy of Shiver for her to read)
For Review:

I borrowed these awesome book from one of my good friends!! :)
  • Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (OMG I am SO excited to read this one! I LOVED the movie with Kristen Stewart when she was like 13 or something! Such a powerful movie!  I honestly didn't even know this was a book up until a couple of months ago when Kody Keplinger (the author of The DUFF) told me.)
  • Bossypants by Tina Fey (Looks hilarious!)
  • Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton (Nat, the friend who borrowed me these awesome looking books, has told me some rave reviews on this series, and gave me the first to try, so I'm hoping it will just as awesome as she says they are! :))

My overall hard copy haul:

With my AWESOME new book ends!! My dad made me these! I bought these giant porcelain (or something close to it) chess pieces at Target for like $2.50, and my dad filled them with concrete for me!  I'm SOOOO excited to use on my new book shelves in my new room! :))

Now to the ebooks:

Bought/Free on Amazon:
Les MisérablesCollide (Collide, #1)

From Netgalley:
The Pretty One: A Novel about Sisters Fifty Writers on Fifty Shades of Grey

Rachel Harris, the author of My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century, hosted this event called The Flirt Squad! It was super fun, and in the end I did make it to that last level (5th Level), and earned some super awesome prizes, including this swag pack which includes:
  • A Signed Rachel Harris Bookplate
  • "Super Sweet" rubber bracelet
  • Two My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century trading cards (one has Cat on it, and one has Lorenzo!)
  • a Signed Rachel Harris Bookmark!
  • AND a Temporary tattoo which is the exact design that Cat has tattooed on her hip (I think it was the hip anyway)!

So those are my lovelies for this month! :)

Now to the reviews from this month:
Wow, just realized not many at all this month! So much going on right now with school and moving, so hopefully next month will be much more! :)

  8. I bought Smart Girls Get What They Want last week. I've heard great things about it.

I really need to read Speak soon. I am pretty sure it is a must-read YA book. Though I have to be in the right mood for it.

    Great haul this week!

  15. Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is adorable. And hilarious. I hope you like it.

Speak is an amazing book! I read it this year, and even going in to it with very high expectations, I was blown away.

    Happy reading :)

  16. Those book ends are gorgeous!

Also YAY for Georgia Nicholson books... I haven't read them in forever, but I ADORED them in high school & I kept reading them until the series ended. The earlier books are definitely better, but still, so much fun. =)

  17. Awesome haul! I hope you enjoy them all.

    Thanks for sharing, Brittan

  18. Ugh so I left a comment, but then blogger decided to be a tool and wouldn't load right and it never posted. Anyways, Awesome haul. Speak is an amazing book and I hope you love it. I also read the Twilight parody and it was pretty funny, but a bit too much on the cheesy side to really enjoy for me.

  19. So jealous that you got the Shiver trilogy. I've been dying to read those books! I'm a *new* huge werewolf fan. I hope you enjoy them!!!

  20. What a great haul. Les Miserables has been on my TBR forever, I just picked up Beguiled, but have to read Exiled first and Speak is one of my faves. Happy reading!
