Shiver by Maggie Steifvater Review

Wow, WOw, WOW!!!!

I can NOT believe that it has taken me this long to read Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver! Honestly, can't believe I have waited THIS LONG!!!

From Goodreads:

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

My Thoughts:

Wow, just Wow!  I can't even tell you how much I loved this book!  Everything about this book!  I loved the characters, the story, the writing (oh the writing! So gorgeous!)!  EVERYTHING! I'm not even kidding!

This is my kind of book!

This!

Shiver is such a great beginning to a series, that I am so unbelievably excited to read books 2 and 3! In fact, I wish so much I could pick them up right NOW, but unfortunately I can't!! It sucks!

Anyway, overall rating:

Do I even have to say?...
Absolutely loved it! I believe partially because in a few ways the love story reminded me a bit of Twilight.  The overall darkness feel of the story and some of the characteristics of the characters.  It doesn't have vampires in it though! Just werewolves!! Super hot werewolves!!  I blew through this book, devouring every single page! I laughed, I cried at one point, and my heart felt for these characters...which only happens to me when I'm reading a book that I truly love!

HIGHLY recommend this one!

It's definitely going onto my Favorites list!

  1. I KNOW RIGHT?! I recently just finished reading Shiver on the side, so now I'm writing the review for it, but I've started on Linger! Ugh, I can't possibly express my feelings on the book. Writing a review is going to be so hard for me :(

  3. I only read the second book, which was in my library. I thought it a bit slow going. But I thought it interesting that when you're a wolf you're just a wolf and that eventually you stay that way and live only a wolf's lifetime.

  4. I Loved Loved Loved Shiver! I actually cried at the end! It was so perfect!! I never read book 2 and 3, and I don't think I ever will. I thought Shiver ended perfectly, maybe a few questions were left unanswered but it was perfect. My friends didn't like the rest of the series and how things ended, so I just refuse to keep reading, it's one of my favorite books ever and I don't want to risk liking it any less by how the series ends.

If you do decide to read them I hope you enjoy them a lot :)

    1. Oh no! The books didn't end good??!! That's horrible! I'm definitely looking forward to reading them though! I've got 2 and 3 sitting on my shelf, so I'll get to them very soon! :)

I hope I like them too! I'm a little worried now haha
