Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

Hey Everyone!!

So before now, I have never read a book by Colleen Hoover...I know, I know, some of you must be asking yourself, "What?!! WHY?!!"  And trust me when I say, I started asking myself that exact same question about half way through Maybe Someday, Colleen's latest release.

Thanks to Atria, I received a review copy of Maybe Someday, a few weeks ago, and finally got around to reading it the last couple of weeks (yes, couple of WEEKS, sorry guys, I've been busy unfortunately!)

Anyway here's my review! :)

From Goodreads:

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Slammed, Point of Retreat, Hopeless, This Girl, and Losing Hope, Maybe Someday is destined to become another bestseller and long-lasting fan favorite.

Includes a free original soundtrack by musician Griffin Peterson.

My Thoughts:

Colleen Hoover has written an absolutely stunning novel!  With the twist and turns of love, finding a new love, confusion, getting heart broken, and the realistic feelings of love I found myself reading and reading and not wanting to put the book down; especially during those crucial moments!

Sydney is such a simple character in some ways, but her emotions are so realistic!  While at times, I will admit I wanted to slap her for putting herself through that torture of falling in love with someone who was in love with someone else already, especially after she just had her heart broken by her boyfriend and best friend; I would soon realize that I couldn't even be mad at her!  Most of us have been through something very similar.  Falling for someone, who was had someone else.  While, most of the time, it turns out they don't have the same feelings for us, there are still those moments where you realize love works in mysterious ways.

Ridge...oh Ridge, what have you done to us readers?!  When I found out his situation a few chapters into the book, all I could think was "Awesome!" Not because it's awesome with what was wrong, but because I have honestly never read a book before that dealt with a main character struggling with that problem! Sorry for being so cryptic, but I just can't give it away guys! It's just too darn good!

Anyway, the feelings Colleen describes for when he is with both Sydney and Maggie are amazing.  While I was frustrated at times, because I wanted him to make up his mind, I also knew it just isn't that simple.  The heart can tell you to love multiple people for different reasons.

I just loved everything about this book! The characters, the flaws, the story line...EVERYTHING!

My rating:

Hands down, one of the best books I've read this year!  I am 100% looking forward to reading more by Colleen.  I've got a couple sitting on my shelf, thanks to Atria, and in my Kindle, waiting to be read, so in the near future that will definitely be happening :).

Definitely check it out if you get a chance!  It's a New Adult book, which means most likely not for audiences under the age of 17, so keep that in mind.  :)

You can get your copy either at Barnes and Noble or Amazon, or where ever books are sold! :)

Have a great week everyone!!

Coming very soon, is an audiobook review of Twilight, which I finally finished listening to last week! :)
