I can't believe Meg-A Readers 2014 is already almost over!! ;(
But it's been a fun week, as Meg-A Readers tends to be! :)
For Part 2 of Day 6 of Meg-A Readers 2014, I've got my review for Meg's 9th book in The Princess Diaries Series, Princess Mia!
A princess on her own . . .
Mia has been invited to speak at a gala for Domina Rei, an elite society of powerful businesswomen. But what could she possibly have to say? Now that Michael has broken things off, Mia can barely get out of bed, and her parents are making her see a "therapist." School, where Lilly still refuses to speak to her and Lana suddenly wants to be bff, is a total nightmare. Even J.P.'s efforts to cheer Mia up (he's being really sweet ) aren't helping. What's a royal to do?
Just when things couldn't get worse, Mia uncovers an old family secret, a long-forgotten diary of a teenage princess of Genovia. It could be just the thing to help Mia write her speech--but it might also change the fate of the Renaldos forever.
While this entire series is about Mia finding herself, this one is probably the one where Mia discovers the most about herself.
It's one of my absolute favorites in the series, but not one I read every time I pick up one of the books, probably because it truly is difficult to see Mia go through what she is going through. Having your heart broken is one of the most difficult things to go through in life. And the depression Mia overcome with, is one that had me wiping my eyes constantly, because all of us Princess Diaries know one thing: Mia and Michael are meant to be!!
Then their is Lana, who is being...*cue horrific face* NICE to Mia now!! What is going on with that??
Lilly once again leaves Mia behind, as she always seems to when Mia is dealing with something very difficult. And while yes Lilly has a small reason this time, I still think she's always been somewhat of a terrible friend to Mia, and has a lot of growing up to do herself.
Michael...Oh Michael. Why??? Why would you leave us??
Will Michael come back? Will Lilly and Mia rekindle their friendship? Will JP stop confessing his "love" for Mia??? Is Lana now really Mia's friend, and not her enemy anymore? And will Mia be able to finally achieve self-actualization, or is it really about finding out to become the best person she become for herself, and no one else?
Answers I'm sure, we'll all get in the final book (or so we thought!!!! :)) in The Princess Diaries Series, Forever Princess!
