Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

So I am taking part in The Harry Potter Reading Challenge in 2012,
Like MANY people around the world, I got into The Harry Potter fever when the books were released.  I started reading the series when I was in the 4th grade, in 2001, so about three year after the first book was officially published.
My mom and I got completely hooked on the series, and even though I hate to admit it, my mom probably got more into than me...for a while it was quite the competition on who could read the book faster... :)

Every year, when that new Harry Potter book was released, my mom ran to Target the morning of the release around 6 in the morning, so she could arrive at Target when they opened at 8 (here's the funny thing, we don't actually live that far away from Target, maybe half an hour!), so she could come quickly home and start reading the newest book.
That's the unfortunate part, because since my mom was the one to run out and get it, she was the one who got to read it first!

So usually, about two, maybe three days later, I was able to finally crack open that spine.

Anyway, to be honest, I can't remember exactly how I got into the series.  I believe one of my buddies was reading it at the time, and his mom had told me to read it, so I ended up picking it up one day, and read it.  It took me probably about a month, because I wasn't very good at reading back then...but eventually I did finish it!

We all know what Harry Potter is about, so I don't think I need to go into details; but just to show I am getting the challenge done, I wanted to share with you that I have FINALLY finished rereading...okay not reading, more like listening, to the first Harry Potter.

Now, NORMALLY, I swear I am not one for listening to audio books!  But Harry Potter is different!  It's won many prizes for its audio books, and I have always wanted to give listening to a book a try.  I've never done it before!

And I guess, listening isn't necessarily the same as reading the book, but if you saw my TBR stack, you might understand!  Listening to Harry Potter has given the opportunity to somewhat finally clean my room and walk around town, as I make my way to my math tests at the library! :)

Overall rating:

So that's it for today! Just an update on the Harry Potter Reading Challenge...or I guess, in my case...The Harry Potter Listening Challenge :).
