Anna and the French Kiss Review

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins...first off, there is one thing I want to know...what took this LONG TO READ THIS???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

That's what I was asking myself through reading Anna the entire time!

WHAT??

Anna and the French Kiss is about a seventeen year old teenage girl, named Anna, whose father ships her off to an America boarding school in Paris named School of America in Paris (or SOAP).  Anna already know she's going to hate SOAP! I mean how couldn't she? She's had to leave behind her best friend, little brother whom she adores, and her boyfriend (oh, okay, not quite boyfriend, but it was EXTREMELY close!!).

Anna is in for the year of her life...

Upon arriving she meet Etienne St. Clair, a super handsome born American, with a British accent, who grew up in France with great hair!

Unfortunately, Anna finds out almost immediately that St. Clair is off-limits.  Not only does he have a girlfriend (for the past two years!), but he also has every single girl in the school swooning over him.  But that doesn't stop her from becoming friends with him...best friends in fact.

He shows her Paris, they talk a lot, go to a ton of films in Paris (something Anna loves to do, because she hopes to be a famous movie critic when she grows up!), and they learn more about each other than any other person knows.

But trouble pursues.  Anna is having a hard time hiding her feelings, but she is caught between choosing the boy that she knows she loves, and protecting her friend's feeling, who also has a crush on St. Clair.  But what is with St. Clair when she sometimes allows his feelings to come out...or is it just Anna.  And why won't he breakup with his girlfriend, if he continues to be with Anna?

A few months after school has started, St. Clair gets distressing news about his mother. No one seems to understand what is going on in St. Clair's life.  All Anna wants to do is make St. Clair happy, cheer him up.  Can she do it?

Will Anna and St. Clair admit their feelings for one another?  The answer may surprise you, as their feelings go through a turbulent roller coaster...

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! This was honestly one of those books where I was dreading the ending, not because of anything bad happening, but because I just didn't want it to end! I felt like I was right beside Anna and St. Clair as they spent their senior year in high school together.  I LOVED it! The details about Paris, the feelings that St. Clair and Anna share and go through! The friendship! Cassandra Clare really couldn't have described this book in any better way, "Magical. Anna and the French Kiss really captures the feeling of being in love."

I 100% recommend this book! I read it so fast, and the feelings I got as I read it, I honestly do not get very often...for instance, right now off the top of my head, the only books where I felt like I couldn't put it down and I was dreading it to end were this book, The DUFF by Kody Keplinger, The Twilight Saga (when I read them the first time), Forever Princess by Meg Cabot, and probably very few others.

It's an amazing feeling when a book does that! Just what someone needs! A great book that you will learn to love immediately!

    1. Umm... I believe it was James Oliphant, but he went under the Pen name James Ashley. Was it just me or were the scenes where Anna's father came into the conversation, references making a bit of fun of Nicholas Sparks' books...?? ;)
