Meg-A Readers Week! Day 2: Princess in Waiting (The Princess Diaries #4) by Meg Cabot (Giveaway!)

Day 2 Part 2 of Meg-A Readers Week! :)

Do you want to know what I love most about The Princess Diaries Series?

Probably the fact, that while sometimes Mia's complaining about life may seem juvenile to some, in the end it pretty much a day-by-day playback of my thoughts back in high school.

Does he like me?
OMG he's looking at me, do I have something on my face?

Those may not be the word-for-word thoughts Mia had, but in the end the I, along with thousands of other girls in high school, had the exact same insecurity issues that Mia had.  Heck! In fact, I still have them sometimes!!

I'm wondering if Mia will still these issues in next years release of the 11th Princess Diaries book??!!

From Goodreads:

Never before has the world seen such a princess.

Nor have her own subjects, for that matter. Mia's royal introduction to Genovia has mixed results: while her fashion sense is widely applauded, her position on the installation of public parking meters is met with resistance.

But the politics of bureaucracy are nothing next to Mia's real troubles. Between canceled dates with her long—sought—after royal consort, a second semester of the dreaded Algebra, more princess lessons from Grandmère as a result of the Genovian parking—meter thing, and the inability to stop gnawing on her fingernails, isn't there anything Mia is good at besides inheriting an unwanted royal title?

My Thoughts:

While, I'll be honest and say that sometimes the whining Mia does in this book annoys me, especially because of how juvenile the things she worries about are, I must also remember at the same time, that it wasn't that long ago that I was an insecure teenage girl, just like Mia, and that while I never had a boyfriend in high school, I had the insecure thoughts towards the guys I liked.  It's natural to feel that way!

Mia (or I should really say Meg) put these feelings on a page (or a book, if you want to be literal about it), and made them true to form.

I'm just soooooo glad Michael and her are finally together!!!!!!

Overall rating:

If I've said it before, I'll say it again!!! Read this series!!!  It's the most perfect series for a teenage girl growing up and living the hell that is known as High school!! Check them out if you haven't!! And no, do NOT watch the movie thinking you'll get the gist of this series!! Because while the movie is good, I have never associated it with the book series, with the differences are just too much!!
