Happy Sunday Everyone!!

It's time for another IMM for me!! It's already been a month!! Jeez lol, time flies!!

In My Mailbox was originally started by The Story Siren and it's where anyone can participate and let everyone know what they got in books, and other book related things, throughout a given time.  Anyone with a blog can join in, and you can post once a week, once a month, or whenever you choose to.

Seriously!  And they were pretty much all hard copies! Which is awesome!! I even got a SUPER SPECIAL package from MEG Cabot!! So I'll be sharing the content of that! PLUS some AWESOME signed copies!!!! So excited to share with you all!

      The bookstore is definitely really cool! A bit pricey though, I will admit. For a used book store. I paid $4.50 for the pocket sized "Three to get Deadly" by Janet Evanovich, which I thought was a bit steep. :)

I think Stephanie Plum books but I have the series up to around book 14. They are fun. One Day sounds so romantic and I also have A Great and Terrible Beauty I still need to read.       One Day is a GREAT book! Really gorgeous story! I personally, wasn't a huge fan of the movie, but the book was beautiful! :)

    That’s a lot of this books you got! I’m particularly fond of Beautiful Darkness - it made me cry and I’M MALE! Go figure :P Also I still need to get around to the Gemma Doyle trilogy (A Great and Terrible Beauty) but I hope you enjoy it as I know many do.

      Lol, I need to get my hands on "Beautiful Creatures" and read the one first! The series looks really good! And I read "Rebel Angel" the second book in the GD trilogy, and thought it was pretty good, but that was more than 5 years ago. I'm interested to see if/how my opinion changed on the books... :)

    Great haul this week! Babe in Boyland sounds pretty good. I really need to get caught up in the Pretty Little Liars series. I've read the first 9. I recently read A Great and Terrible Beauty and I loved it.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

I saw the movie Hugo (directed by Martin Scorsese) right before the New Year.  Let me back track, and let you know that usually I am NOT a fan of Oscar movies.  If I'm being honest, I find them to be boring.  However, this year has seemed to bring quite a few more exceptions than normal.  Among those are: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 , The Help , and Hugo.   I fell in love with Hugo .  I thought it so beautifully done.  The music, the characters, the story.  I found myself crying even at points that wouldn't necessarily make you cry.  I honestly, didn't know the movie was based on a book; but when I found out at the end, I knew I had to read it. The winner of the Children's Caldecott Award, The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick is nothing like anything I've ever read.  Normally, when I read I imagine the story that I am reading  unfolding in my head like a movie; but with The Invention of Hugo Cabret I didn't have to imagine.  T

The Cassandra Clare Experience that I ALMOST Missed!! (PLUS INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY!!!)

Hey Everyone! Can I just say I had one of the most amazing nights Friday night!! So rewind.... Let's start from the beginning... Once upon a time my fabulous mom and I went on a little road trip.  We left at 1:00 p.m. the house, with directions in hand that told us it would take about 2 hrs. and 20 minutes to get there. Well, thanks to the beautiful view of Los Angeles traffic, and the most crappy directions EVER, it took almost SIX hours to get there!!!!!!!!!! No freaking joke!!! Mapquest SKIPPED a step on the directions so we ended up going on the wrong freeway, and getting over an hour off track!! Thanks to wonderful lady at A Whale of a Tale Bookshoppe , who had the technology needed to actually travel, not just paper directions, we were able to find our way back on track!!
